It explains how ICEM (CIME/ICEM) addresses refugee resettlement and assistance to European countries facing population surplus. The issue also outlines the migration relevance of EEC, OECD, EFTA, and LAFTA, emphasizing that migration concerns extend beyond any single body and include broader economic and policy effects. It highlights 1964-1965 trends and provides a thematic structure for the handbook-like set of articles.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/research-report/","Research five international organizationsand their direct or indirect concern with migration. \nThe aims and structure of the organization which is nearest to us,the INTERGOVERN-MENTAL COMMITTEE FOR EUROPEAN MIGRATION(ICEM -CIME)is sowidely known to our readers that we have analyzed only the problem of the necessary extentionof its activities.Next we present the first results of the activities for the past three yearsof another body which contributed greatly to the liberalization of migration movements inEurope:the EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY(EEC -CEE),known also asthe“European Common Market.”The interest in migration of the World Economic Council, which is called the ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION ANDDEVELOPMENT(OECD-OCDE),is self explanatory;however, its aims and presentactivities are among the least known in the migration field. The counterpart of the EECin Europe, the EUROPEAN FREE TRADE ASSOCIATION(EFTA -AELE)has notembarked on extensive migration activities. The same could be said of the LATIN AMERI-CAN FREE TRADE ASSOCIATION(LAFTA-ALALC)which is at present orly poten-tially interested in migration in view of the problems with which it is faced on the LatinAmerican continent. All of these bodies, however, form a whole in which migration playsor should play a role, whether direct or indirect. \nOn page 17 we present a graph illustrating the participation of various countries indifferent international organizations. The Editors \n# Will ICEM Increase the Number of its Migrants in 1965?\n\nby
