The narrative unfolds in the ruins of a king's palace, which has since fallen into disrepair and become overgrown with grass. This serene environment serves as a happy home for hundreds of mice who inhabit the ruins, engaging in games and living contentedly. Their peaceful existence is disrupted when an Elephant King and his herd stumble upon the ruins while searching for food. The elephants' large feet inadvertently cause destruction to the grassy floors and walls, destroying the mice's homes and their beloved playground. Faced with this crisis, the mice convene a meeting to discuss their predicament. A courageous mouse volunteers to approach the Elephant King. The mouse pleads with the Elephant King to alter his herd's path to spare their home, bravely offering that they might one day be able to help the elephants. Despite the Elephant King's initial amusement and disbelief at the small creatures' ability to assist them, he kindly agrees to change their route to avoid causing further harm. Months later, the Elephant King and his herd fall into a hunter's trap and are bound by ropes. One elephant manages to escape and seeks help from the mice. King Mouse quickly rallies all the mice, young and old, big and small. In a remarkable display of unity and effort, hundreds of mice work together, gnawing through the ropes until all the elephants are freed. This tale highlights themes of empathy, unexpected alliances, and the idea that even the smallest among us can provide significant help.","Mice and the Elephants \nPanchatantra Tales \nEnglish Traditional Story \nOnce upon a time there was a king who lived in a finestone palace. After many years the king grew old and died. Everyone left the palace. Slowly, the walls fell down, and soon lovely green grass grew over the floors. \nNow, in the grass lived hundreds of mice. They lived happily in the ruins with their sons and grandsons, their grandfathers and grandmothers. They loved the ruins and played treasure hunt and hide and seek together. They were all very happy. \nOne day, searching for food, an Elephant King and his herd wandered into the ruins. Their big feet tore up the grassy floors and broke the walls. Many mice lost their homes and their beautiful playground. \nThe mice were very sad. They held a meeting. “These elephants will destroy our home!” they cried. “What shall we do?” \nOne brave mouse went to meet Elephant King. “Oh mighty elephant, we live here in this beautiful palace. Your herd is destroying our home. Please help us by using another path? One day, we hope we can help you!” Elephant King listened kindly to the tiny mouse. “I don’t think you can ever help us. You are so small!” he laughed. “but we don’t want to hurt you, so we will go another way.” \nMany months later, Elephant King and his herd were trapped in the forest by some hunters. They were tied up with ropes. One of the elephants could escape the trap. He ran through the forest and called the mice. King Mouse quickly called every mouse, young and old, big and small. Hundreds of mice, ran to the elephants. They bit and chewed on the ropes until every last elephant could break free.","cbCaieiBFmkk8I4z","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieiBFmkk8I4z","pdf",2837959,4,19,"English","en",105,"# Mice and the Elephants\n# Panchatantra Tales\n# English Traditional Story","[{\"question\":\"What was the initial problem faced by the mice?\",\"answer\":\"The mice faced the problem of their home and playground being destroyed by the Elephant King and his herd who wandered into the ruins where the mice lived.\"},{\"question\":\"How did the mice try to resolve their problem?\",\"answer\":\"A brave mouse went to meet the Elephant King to ask him to use another path, promising that the mice might be able to help the elephants one day.\"},{\"question\":\"How did the mice eventually help the elephants?\",\"answer\":\"Months later, when the elephants were trapped by hunters and tied with ropes, the mice came to their rescue by chewing through the ropes and freeing them.\"}]",1784297118,29,{"code":4,"msg":30,"data":31},"ok",{"site_id":24,"language":23,"slug":32,"title":13,"keywords":33,"description":14,"schema_data":34,"social_meta":85,"head_meta":87,"extra_data":89,"updated_unix":27},"mice-and-the-elephants","",{"@graph":35,"@context":84},[36,52,67],{"@type":37,"itemListElement":38},"BreadcrumbList",[39,43,47,50],{"item":40,"name":41,"@type":42,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":44,"name":45,"@type":42,"position":46},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":48,"name":12,"@type":42,"position":49},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":42,"position":20},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/mice-and-the-elephants/90817/",{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":53,"author":54,"headline":13,"publisher":56,"fileFormat":59,"inLanguage":23,"description":14,"dateModified":60,"datePublished":61,"encodingFormat":59,"isAccessibleForFree":62,"interactionStatistic":63},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":55},"Person",{"url":40,"name":57,"@type":58},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-27","2026-07-17",true,{"@type":64,"interactionType":65,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":66},"ViewAction",{"@type":68,"mainEntity":69},"FAQPage",[70,76,80],{"name":71,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":73},"What was the initial problem faced by the mice?","Question",{"text":74,"@type":75},"The mice faced the problem of their home and playground being destroyed by the Elephant King and his herd who wandered into the ruins where the mice lived.","Answer",{"name":77,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":78},"How did the mice try to resolve their problem?",{"text":79,"@type":75},"A brave mouse went to meet the Elephant King to ask him to use another path, promising that the mice might be able to help the elephants one day.",{"name":81,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":82},"How did the mice eventually help the elephants?",{"text":83,"@type":75},"Months later, when the elephants were trapped by hunters and tied with ropes, the mice came to their rescue by chewing through the ropes and freeing them.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":86,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":57,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":88,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":24},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":91},[92,95,99,103,108,113,118,123,128,131,135],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":93,"slug":94},90,"story-novel",{"id":46,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":96,"show_sort_weight":97,"slug":98},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":100,"show_sort_weight":101,"slug":102},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":104,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":105,"show_sort_weight":106,"slug":107},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":109,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":110,"show_sort_weight":111,"slug":112},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":114,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":115,"show_sort_weight":116,"slug":117},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":119,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":120,"show_sort_weight":121,"slug":122},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":124,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":125,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":127},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":126,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":129,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":130},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":133,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":134},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":21,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":136,"show_sort_weight":104,"slug":137},"General","general"]
