One letter of reference or recommendation from a teacher, coach, or other adult who is not an immediate relative.  \nSelection Process  \nRecipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of Mensa New Zealand based on application materials provided.  \nAll scholarship applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision by 1 December 2023.  \nThe winners may be announced at their school’s prizegiving, if still at high school.  \nThe winners will receive a certificate and, if not already a member, an offer for a free Mensa Entry test.  \nPayment will be made to the recipient upon notification and in accordance with the tertiary education institution’s scholarship guidelines, and when Mensa New Zealand has received a letter of acceptance or confirmation of study at an approved tertiary education institution.  \nMembership of Mensa New Zealand  \nNew members of Mensa New Zealand are always welcome.  \nMensa members get access to a social and professional network of high IQ individuals, national and international online forums, and national and international Mensa gatherings.  \nTo become a member of Mensa New Zealand, you can sit a supervised Mensa admission test by:  \n• filling out the online application form at [https://mensa.org.nz](https://mensa.org.nz),  \n• emailing your details (name, contact phone numbers, postal address and email address) [to join@mensa.org.nz](to join@mensa.org.nz), or  \n• by completing the printable application form and mailing it to us.  \nTesting sessions are held regularly in the main centers, and at other centers in New Zealand when required.  \nYou can bypass our testing process if you have achieved a score at or above the 98th percentile in any IQ test conducted by a registered psychologist and approved by our supervisory psychologist.
