The Keeper is expected to have the Keeper Rulebook to reference injury rules, as well as hit locations.  \nCall of Cthulhu is already a lethal game, and this supplement makes it even more likely a stray bullet, club, or tentacle cripples investigator. The primary goal is to make Major Wounds meaningful, memorable, and if the group desires it, impartial. Keepers should use all or some of this supplement’s rules to suit their group’s desires.  \nThis supplement may be best paired with optional rules from Pulp Cthulhu, such as the Avoiding Unconsciousness, It’s Only a Scratch, or Avoiding Certain Death! (Pulp Cthulhu p. 61), or by adding Major Wounds back into a full Pulp Cthulhu game but without the effect on Dying (Pulp Cthulhu p. 66) .
