The items selected for the Practice Test are designed to reflect \n􀁸 a broad coverage of claims and targets that closely mirror the summative blueprint. \n􀁸 a range of student response types. \n􀁸 a breadth of difficulty levels across the items, ranging from easier to more difficult items. \nIt is important to note that all student response types are not fully represented on every practice test, but a distribution can be observed across all the practice tests. The items presented are reflective of refinements and adjustments to language based on pilot test results and expert recommendations from both content and accessibility perspectives. \nWithin this guide, each item is presented with the following information1 : \n􀁸 Claim: statement derived from evidence about college and career readiness \n􀁸 Domain: a broad content area that contains related targets and standards (i.e. , Geometry) \n􀁸 Target: statement that bridges the content standards and the assessment evidence that supports the claim \n􀁸 Depth of Knowledge (DOK): measure of complexity considering the student’s cognitive process in response to an item. There are four DOK levels, a 4 being the highest level. \n􀁸 Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Content (CCSS-MC) \n􀁸 Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Practice (CCSS-MP) \n􀁸 Static presentation of the item: static presentation of item from test administration system \n􀁸 Static presentation of student response field(s): static presentation of response field from test administration system \n􀁸 Answer key or exemplar: expected student response or example response from score point value \n􀁸 Rubric and applicable score points for each item: score point representations for student responses \nThe following items are representative of the kinds of items that students can expect to experience when taking the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) portion of the summative assessment for high school. A separate document is available that provides a high school sample performance task and scoring guide. \n1 Most of these terms (Claim, Domain, Target, DOK, etc.) are further defined in various other Smarter Balanced documents, as well as the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Refer to the Content Specifications for the Summative Assessment of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics for more information. \nSmarter Balanced High School Mathematics Practice Test Scoring Guide 2 \nGrade 11 Mathematics \n\n| Item | Claim | Domain | Target | DOK | CCSS-MC | CCSS-MP |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| \\#1 | 1 | A-SSE | D | 1 | A-SSE.A.2 | 7 |\n\nKey: C \nRubric: (1 point) The student selects the correct equivalent expression. \nSmarter Balanced High School Mathematics Practice Test Scoring Guide \n3 \nGrade 11 Mathematics \n\n| Item | Claim | Domain | Target | DOK | CCSS-MC | CCSS-MP |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| \\#2 | 1 | N-RN | A | 1 | N-RN.A.2 | 7 |\n\nKey: C \nRubric: (1 point) Student selects the correct expression in exponential form. \nSmarter Balanced High School Mathematics Practice Test Scoring Guide \nGrade 11 Mathematics \n\n| Item | Claim | Domain | Target | DOK | CCSS-MC | CCSS-MP |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| \\#3 | 1 | A-APR | F | 2 | A-APR.A.1 | 7 |\n\nKey: 4x2-6x or-6x+4x2 \nRubric: (1 point) The student enters a correct equivalent expression. \nSmarter Balanced High School Mathematics Practice Test Scoring Guide \n5 \nGrade 11 Mathematics \n\n| Item | Claim | Domain | Target | DOK | CCSS-MC | CCSS-MP |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| \\#4 | 3 | G-CO | F | 3 | G-","cbCaiukvICS07Sxj","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiukvICS07Sxj","pdf",1740438,51,"English","# About the Practice Test Scoring Guides\n## Item components and scoring considerations","[{\"question\":\"What item elements does the scoring guide define for each practice test item?\",\"answer\":\"It defines Claim, Domain, Target, Depth of Knowledge (DOK), CCSS-MC and CCSS-MP, static item and response presentation, an answer key or exemplar, and the rubric with applicable score points.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the guide describe Depth of Knowledge (DOK)?\",\"answer\":\"DOK measures item complexity based on the student’s cognitive process, with four levels where 4 is the highest.\"},{\"question\":\"What do the rubrics in the guide specify?\",\"answer\":\"Rubrics specify score point representations for student responses, including what earns full credit and what earns partial credit for the listed items.\"}]","Math Practice Test Scoring Guide - Grade 11 | PDF",1791062256,129]
