mychest—we dunnit.You won't be able to find ourself-admitted failures(two)in back issues,becausethey were future things we had planned on.Leon-Joseph Cardinal Suenens,Primate of Belgium,wasin this country recently,you will recall,and ad-  \ndressed the UN.Cardinal Suenens is an open advocate for bringingmarriage and Catholic family living up to date through the VaticanCouncil,which was set to be continued this September.However,theCardinal swept through the country and flew back to Belgium so fastthat our fast-paced American reporter couldn't keep up with him.Welost contact,and we lost a good article—an interview that was to beabout proposals that would probably be made at the reconvened VaticanCouncil and their probable outcome.  \nAlong with Cardinal Suenens,we had hoped to get an interview withour own Cardinal Ritter of St.Louis.That too failed,but we did man-age to get the next best thing in this instance.The Cardinal's canonistand theologian is working with a reporter from the St.Louis Revieu'.They will prepare for you,sometime in the future,some recommendedchanges in marriage and family living that will probably be brought upbefore the Council and discussed.  \nIt is too early to predict what will happen,even whether the VaticanCouncil will convene at the stated time,due to the death of Pope JohnXXIII and the election of his successor.But this much is certain:thereis a growing sentiment that some changes will have to be made to bringsome aspects of marriage and family living up to date and more inline with our Twentieth Century living.IWhat these
