This chapter gives us four.  \n1. Where was Jesus as he was teaching? Why?  \n2. Where were the four places that seed fell? What happened to each?  \n3. What was Jesus' explanation of the parable?  \n4. How receptive is your heart to God's Word?  \nRead or listen to Mark 4:21-34  \nJesus talked about a lamp in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5) . Jesus says that his truths are like a light to the world. People don't light a lamp and then hide it under a basket or bed. They put it on a stand so it can light up the room.  \nWe should not keep what we have learned from God's Word to ourselves. We must openly confess our faith and share what we have learned.  \n1. What new truths are you learning? Are you sharing them with others?  \nIn the Parable of the Growing Seed, Jesus seems to be telling us that the seed of God's Word can be planted, but only God can make it grow and produce a crop.  \nThe fourth parable is demonstrated by the mustard seed. Though it is very small, it grows into a very large tree. Jesus says that the kingdom of God is like that. Although it is starting out small, it will grow and flourish.  \nRead or listen to Mark 4:35-41  \nThe Sea of Galilee lies low, and is surrounded by mountains. Sudden, strong storms are a common occurance.  \n1. What happened as Jesus rested in the boat?  \n2. What did the disciples say to Jesus? Have you ever felt like saying that to Jesus when you are going through a hard situation?  \n3. What did Jesus do? What did He say to the disciples?  \n4. What was the disciples' reaction?  \nCHAPTER 5  \nRead or listen to Mark 5:1-20  \nWhen Jesus and his disciples arrived at the region of the Gerasenes, a man with an evil spirit came out to meet Jesus. The man had been living in the tombs and was so strong he could not be chained.  \n1. What did the possessed man cry out to Jesus? Why?  \n2. What was the evil spirit's name? A Roman legion was made up of 6,000 men. This suggests that the man was possessed by many demons.  \n3. What did Legion beg Jesus to do? What did Jesus do?  \n4. What did the owners of the pigs do?  \n5. What happened to the man that had been out of his mind?  \n6. What did the people plead for Jesus to do?  \n7. As Jesus was getting into the boat, what did the healed man do?  \n8. What did Jesus tell him to do? Later accounts suggest that many people became believers as a result of this man's testimony.  \nRead or listen to Mark 5:21-43  \nJesus returned to the west side of the Sea of Galilee, and was surrounded again by a large crowd.  \n1.
