Common Course Acronym: This is an acronym by which the course is frequently referred.
2. Course Name: This is the actual name of the course. This is the name by which users should enter the course into their eLicensing CEH records.
3. Type of Course: As a “quick find” aid, courses are grouped together in the table by common topics
4. Max Hours for Category: Some courses contain known maximums of specific content. This lists the maximum number of hours that could be used for that category.
5. CEH Content Categories: These are the categories to which CEH hours can be applied based upon the course content.
6. Check Box: A check in the category box indicates that hours from the course may be used here. You may distribute hours as best meets your CEH needs (unless there is a MAX hours listed for the category listed) . You can use up to the MAX course hours available for the course.
7. Max Course Hours: This is the maximum number of hours the course is worth. The total hours used in each category must not exceed the MAX course hours. You should distribute all course hours listed, among the applicable categories shown in the table for the course, even if it exceeds the hours you need for that category. NOTE: If you have more hours in a category than you need, the excess hours will be shifted to LCCR/ICCR content in your CEH record. LCCR/ICCR content is flexible content
Instructions
a. Find your Standardized CEH Curriculum course in the table.
b. From the course name, read the table row left to right, noting the CEH content category boxes with check marks in them. These are the categories for which the course has applicable content.
c. Continue along the table row to the right and note the course max hours. This is the total amount of CEH hours the course is worth.
d. You may distribute the course CEH hours among the categories for which the course has content (check mark in the box) as you need, until there are no more hours to distribute. NOTE: Some boxes contain verbiage listing the max content hours which may be applied to the respective category.
e. You may then enter the CEH hours as you’ve distributed them into your CEH record in eLicensing.
Example
CEH Hour Distribution Information Provided in Table
CEH Hours as Distributed by EMS Clinician
Examples provided are only to illustrate various ways in which the hours may be distributed. Distribution of hours should be reflective of your needs.
OR
OR
| Acronyms | Name of Standardized Course | ✓ = Content applicable to that category, or hours as indicated | | | | | |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | Cardiology | ARV | Cardiology | Trauma | Medical | Operations | Course MAX
Hours |
| CPR-HCP | CPR-Healthcare Professional | ✓ | ✓ | | ✓ | | 4 |
| ACLS | Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) | ✓ | ✓ | Up to 2 | ✓ | | 10 |
| ALS | Advanced Life Support (Red Cross) | ✓ | ✓ | Up to 2 | ✓ | | 10 |
| Acronyms | Name of Standardized Course | ✓ = Content applicable to that category, or hours as indicated | | | | | |
| | Medical | ARV | Cardiology | Trauma | Medical | Operations | Course MAX
Hours |
| AMLS | Advanced Medical Life Support (NAEMT) | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | 16 |
| EMPACT | Emergency Medical Patients: Assessment, Care, and Transport (CMEDDS) | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | 16 |
| ABLS | Advanced Burn Life Support | ✓ | Up to 1 | ✓ | ✓ | | 7 |
| ASLS | Advanced Stroke Life Support | ✓ | ✓ | Up to 1 | ✓ | | 8 |
| ENLS | Emergency Neurological Life Support | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | | 15 |
| | Forensic Phlebotomy (KVCC) | | | | ✓ | ✓ | 16 |
| PTEP | Psychological Trauma in EMS Patients (NAEMT) | | | | ✓ | | 8 |
| Acronyms | Name of Standardized Course |
✓ = Content applicable to that category, or hours as indicated | | | | | |
| | Special Populations | ARV | Cardiology | Trauma | Medical | Operations | Course MAX
Hours |
| PALS |","cbCaiiuS5dQOjZHu","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiuS5dQOjZHu","pdf",726774,"English","# Instructions for Use
## Key
## Instructions
## Example
## CEH Hour Distribution Information Provided in Table
## CEH Hours as Distributed by EMS Clinician","[{"question":"What does the “Common Course Acronym” column mean?","answer":"It identifies the acronym that the standardized CEH course is frequently referred to by."},{"question":"How should CEH hours be distributed across categories?","answer":"Allocate the course’s CEH hours among categories that have check marks for applicable content, stopping when no more hours remain, while following any max-hour limits shown for a category."},{"question":"What happens if you assign more hours to a category than you need?","answer":"Excess hours are shifted to LCCR/ICCR content in the CEH record, which is described as flexible content."}]","Maine EMS Standardized CEH Curriculum List - Instructions for Use | PDF",1790154595,13]
