Turner,Secretary.  \nAn Act to Remodel the Board of Agriculture.  \nSECT.1.The president and the professor of agriculture of the statecollege of agriculture and mechanic arts,together with one person fromeach county in the state as now provided for,whose terms of office andthe election of their snecessors shall also be as now provided for,shallconstitute the Maine board of agriculture for the improvement of agricul-ture and the advancement of the general interests of husbaudry.  \nSECT.2.The board shall hold a business session of not exceeding twodays,at the capital.on the first Wednesday of April next.and thereafterannually on the third Wednesday of Januaryin each year.for the electionof officers and perfecting plans for the execution of the work for theyear.  \nSECT.3.The board,by its secretary and one of its members,shallhold annually one farmers'institute in each county,and as many moreas it shall deem expedient orfind practicable with the means at its dis-posal.for the public discussion of topics relating to husbandry.eitherindependently or in connection with any organization devoted to the samegeneral object,and it may,in its discretion,issue bulletins.employexperts.lecturers.a reporter or other aids to enhance the usefulness ofsaid institutes to the public;and shall,as far as practicable,aid andencourage agricultural societies and associations in their efforts.Themembers of the board shall receive no compensation for time and ser-vices rendered,but shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in thedischarge of their duties,two dollars per day for subsistence and sixcents per mile for travel.The whole expenses under this section not toexceed fourteen hundred dollars annually.  \nSECT.4.The board shall appoint a secretary as
