The included material specifies timing, question counts, and answer-choice selection instructions, then provides sample reading passages with corresponding multiple-choice questions. The excerpted passage focuses on legal and practical issues surrounding electronic mail privacy in public and private workplaces and concludes with a main-idea question and additional prompts.","LSAT* \nPrepTest 25 \nJune 1998 \nTest ID: LL3025 \nA complete version of PrepTest XXV has been reproduced with the permission of Law School Admission Council, Inc. \nPrep Test XXV © 1998 Law School Admission Council, Inc. \nAll actual LSAT questions printed within this work are used with the permission of Law School Admission Council, Inc., Box 2000, Newton, PA 18940, the copyright owner. SECTION IV \n1-2- 1 1 \nSECTION I \nTime—35 minutes \n26 Questions \nDirections: Each passage in this section is followed by a group of questions to be answered on the basis of what is stated or implied in the passage. For some of the questions, more than one of the choices could conceivably answer the question. However, you are to choose the best answer; that is, the response that most accurately and completely answers the question, and blacken the corresponding space on your answer sheet. \nMost office workers assume that the messages they send to each other via electronic mail are as private as a telephone call or a face-to-face meeting. That assumption is wrong. Although it is illegal in many \n(5) areas for an employer to eavesdrop on private conversations or telephone calls—even if they take place on a company-owned telephone—there are no clear rules governing electronic mail. In fact, the question of how private electronic mail transmissions \n(10) should be has emerged as one of the more complicated legal issues of the electronic age. \nPeople’s opinions about the degree of privacy that electronic mail should have vary depending on whose electronic mail system is being used and who is reading \n(15) the messages. Does a government office, for example, have the right to destroy electronic messages created in the course of running the government, thereby denying public access to such documents? Some hold that government offices should issue guidelines that allow \n(20) their staff to delete such electronic records, and defend this practice by claiming that the messages thus deleted already exist in paper versions whose destruction is forbidden. Opponents of such practices argue that the paper versions often omit such information as who \n(25) received the messages and when they received them, information commonly carried on electronic mail systems. Government officials, opponents maintain, are civil servants; the public should thus have the right to review any documents created during the conducting of \n(30) government business. \nQuestions about electronic mail privacy have also arisen in the private sector. Recently, two employees of an automotive company were discovered to have been communicating disparaging information about their \n(35) supervisor via electronic mail. The supervisor, who had been monitoring the communication, threatened to fire the employees. When the employees filed a grievance complaining that their privacy had been violated, they were let go. Later, their court case for unlawful \n(40) termination was dismissed; the company’s lawyers successfully argued that because the company owned the computer system, its supervisors had the right to read anything created on it. \nIn some areas, laws prohibit outside interception of \n(45) ele","cbCaikf0RfmdBhg8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikf0RfmdBhg8","pdf",520310,5,1,35,"English","en",105,"# Section I: Reading Comprehension\n## Time—35 minutes\n## Questions (26)\n# Section II: Logical Reasoning\n# Section III: Analytical Reasoning\n# Section IV: Logical Reasoning","[{\"question\":\"What is the timing and question count for Section I?\",\"answer\":\"Section I is timed at 35 minutes and contains 26 questions.\"},{\"question\":\"How are test questions in Reading Comprehension answered?\",\"answer\":\"For each question, choose the best answer based on what is stated or implied, then mark the corresponding space on the answer sheet.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the main topic of the provided reading passage?\",\"answer\":\"The passage discusses how privacy of electronic mail is treated legally in public and private sectors, including employee and government considerations.\"}]","LSAT PrepTest 25 - June 1998 | PDF",1788063595,88,{"code":4,"msg":32,"data":33},"ok",{"site_id":25,"language":24,"slug":34,"title":13,"keywords":35,"description":14,"schema_data":36,"social_meta":87,"head_meta":89,"extra_data":91,"updated_unix":29},"lsat-preptest-25-june-1998","",{"@graph":37,"@context":86},[38,54,69],{"@type":39,"itemListElement":40},"BreadcrumbList",[41,45,49,52],{"item":42,"name":43,"@type":44,"position":21},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":46,"name":47,"@type":44,"position":48},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":50,"name":12,"@type":44,"position":51},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/exam/",3,{"item":53,"name":13,"@type":44,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/lsat-preptest-25-june-1998/160447/",{"url":53,"name":13,"@type":55,"author":56,"headline":13,"publisher":58,"fileFormat":61,"inLanguage":24,"description":14,"dateModified":62,"datePublished":63,"encodingFormat":61,"isAccessibleForFree":64,"interactionStatistic":65},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":57},"Person",{"url":42,"name":59,"@type":60},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-09-03","2026-08-30",true,{"@type":66,"interactionType":67,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":68},"ViewAction",{"@type":70,"mainEntity":71},"FAQPage",[72,78,82],{"name":73,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":75},"What is the timing and question count for Section I?","Question",{"text":76,"@type":77},"Section I is timed at 35 minutes and contains 26 questions.","Answer",{"name":79,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":80},"How are test questions in Reading Comprehension answered?",{"text":81,"@type":77},"For each question, choose the best answer based on what is stated or implied, then mark the corresponding space on the answer sheet.",{"name":83,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":84},"What is the main topic of the provided reading passage?",{"text":85,"@type":77},"The passage discusses how privacy of electronic mail is treated legally in public and private sectors, including employee and government considerations.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":53,"og:type":88,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":59,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":90,"canonical":53},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":25},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":93},[94,98,102,105,109,114,119,124,129,132,136],{"id":21,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":95,"show_sort_weight":96,"slug":97},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":48,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":99,"show_sort_weight":100,"slug":101},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":103,"slug":104},70,"exam",{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":110,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":115,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":126,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":128},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":127,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":130,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":131},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":133,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":134,"show_sort_weight":133,"slug":135},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":137,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":138,"show_sort_weight":20,"slug":139},19,"General","general"]
