Materials and methods: LPCAT1 protein and mRNA levels were assessed using immunohistochemistry, public high-throughput RNA arrays, and RNA sequencing, integrating data to compute expression differences and standard mean difference (SMD). Biological mechanism and functional impact were validated through computational biology and in vitro migration and invasion assays. Results: LPCAT1 expression in GC was higher than in noncancer controls; SMD was 1.11 (95% CI 0.86–1.36) and AUC 0.85 across 15 datasets (1727 GC vs 940 controls). The aim of the current study was to explore the possible clinicopathological significance of LPCAT1 and its perspective mechanism in GC tissues. \nMaterials and Methods: The protein expression and mRNA levels of LPCAT1 were detected from in-house immunohistochemistry and public high-throughput RNA arrays and RNA sequencing. To have a comprehensive understanding of the clinical value of LPCAT1 in GC, all enrolled data were integrated to calculate the expression difference and standard mean difference (SMD) . The biological mechanism of LPCAT1 in GC was confirmed by computational biology and in vitro experiments. Migration and invasion assays were also conducted to confirm the effect of LPCAT1 in GC. \nResults: Both protein and mRNA expression levels of LPCAT1 in GC were remarkably higher than those in noncancerous controls. Comprehensively, the \nSMD of LPCAT1 mRNA was 1.11 (95% CI = 0.86–1. 36) in GC, and the summarized AUC was 0.85 based on 15 datasets containing 1727 cases of GC and 940 \nZu-Xuan Chen and Liang Liang contributed equally as co-first authors. \nZheng-Wen Cai and Jie-An Huang contributed equally as co-corresponding authors, and author Jie-An Huang will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, and also post-publication. \nThis is an open access article under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. \n© 2023 The Authors.
