We will place an MRI coil (camera) on your abdomen. You will enter the magnet feet first with an IV line inserted in whichever arm is the most suitable for a drip. \nBefore the examination, the radiographer will explain certain breathing techniques to you. \nFollowing these breathing instructions will ensure prompt scan completion and prevent motion blur, which our radiologists cannot report. It is therefore critically important that you understand and follow the instructions. \nWe require you to fast for at least 4-6 hours before your scan and arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. \nNot consuming any food or drinks (even water) will ensure that your stomach is empty and will not cause any distortion in the images. It will also ensure that your gallbladder is fully extended and that the reporting radiologist can clearly see the entire gallbladder. This is important because, even if the scan focuses on your liver/pancreas or biliary system, the gallbladder physiologically works together with these organs in a system and will also be reported on. \nPlease inform the booking clerk if you are diabetic and need to consume any snacks/juice. \nBy arriving 15 minutes before your appointment, you allow us time to complete the necessary paperwork and explain the examination process to you. We will also be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. \nDepending on the request from your referring physician , and in consultation with the reporting radiologist, we will inject either 7.5ml/10ml Gadovist or 10ml Primovist. These are gadoliniumcontaining MRI contrast media that can be seen on your scan to highlight any abnormalities. \nIt will not affect you after the scan. However, if you have a known allergy to these specific contrast media, please inform the booking clerk. \nThank you for choosing SCP Radiology as your imaging practice of choice. We are committed to providing you as our patient with the most comfortable experience possible.","cbCaioXSjWZ5ZRJS","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioXSjWZ5ZRJS","pdf",139109,"English","# Scan procedure\n## Positioning and IV access\n## Breathing instructions\n# Pre-exam preparation\n## Fasting requirements\n## Arrival time and paperwork\n## Food and drink restrictions\n# Contrast and safety\n## Contrast agents used\n## Allergy and diabetes considerations","[{\"question\":\"How long will the liver/pancreas MRCP MRI scan take and what position is required?\",\"answer\":\"You will lie on a flat MRI bed for at least 45 minutes.
