Guided by Psalm 148:7,10 and Psalm 84:3, it contrasts being chased and even killed by people with Jesus’ teaching that no sparrow is forgotten by the Father. The story highlights finding safety and rest in God’s house, then connects it to Jesus’ sacrifice and the promise of creation’s renewed harmony. Themes include trust, value, and spiritual homecoming.","Literacy International: The Sparrow Who Found A Home \nCopyright © 2018 Literacy International [info@LiteracyInternational.net](info@LiteracyInternational.net) \nEnglish Spiritual \nLiteracy International: The Sparrow Who Found A Home \nPart 8 of 12 in a series about Creation \n\"Praise the Lord, You Wild Animals and all Cattle, Small Creatures and flying Birds!\" -Psalm 148:7, 10 \nCopyright © 2018 Literacy International [info@LiteracyInternational.net](info@LiteracyInternational.net) \nEnglish \nCopyright © 2018, Literacy International \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) \nYou are free to make commercial use of this work. One of the lullabies for children going to sleep goes this way,“I am Jesus’ little lamb; therefore, glad at heart I am. Jesus loves me; Jesus knows me. All that’s good and fair He shows me. Tends me every day the same; even calls me by my name!” \nWe are not the only ones who love to sing. Many birds do, too. And those who can’t sing well can listen to those birds which sing beautifully. People sometimes catch birds and put them in cages. Some song birds keep on singing even when they are held in cages! \nNow there is a plain little bird called a sparrow. Sometimes people pay not attention to it and chase sparrows away with stones. When Jesus was here on earth, they were sometimes killed and eaten! One day He said to His disciples,“Some people may not like you and what you tell them about Me, but don’t be afraid. Just think! Two sparrows are sold for a penny, but not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father in heaven knowing about it. Moreover, He watches over you so carefully that He knows how many hairs you have on your heads. So don’t be afraid of people, for you are worth more than many sparrows.” \nThat doesn’t mean that God doesn’t value His sparrows, for He does. The Lord Jesus said to His disciples,“Not one of them is forgotten by God.” Since He remembers every one of them, when you see a bird you can say to yourself,“God has not forgotten that bird. He knows all about it. So, of course, God never forgets about me. God is so good!” Or say something like that. \nNow there was a beautiful singer years ago who wrote in a song about a sparrow who needed a home, that is, a place to make a nest. This song is in God’s Word, the Bible. There are one hundred and fifty songs found together in one place just about in the middle of God’s Book. One of them, No. 86, tells us about this sparrow. \nThe sparrow must have been looking in a number of places for a nest. This would have been in the city of Jerusalem where there were lots of people and crowded streets. The sparrow wanted a quiet place in which to build a nest, lay some eggs, and raise some little sparrows. She found just the right place when she flew up to the temple mount where God’s House stood and where people came to worship God. \nThe writer of the song tells us,“Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself where she may have her young--a place near Your altar, Oh Lord, Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your House; they are ever praising You.” And again in the same song, he goes on, saying,“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked, for the Lord God is a sun and shield.” \nHow contented the sparrow would be listening to the singers in God’s house! And how safe the sparrow would feel in such a place. Yes, this was a wonderful place to raise a brood of young sparrows! No harsh noise. No danger to life.","cbCaitMGvpesBQPN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitMGvpesBQPN","pdf",219227,1,11,"English","en",105,"# The Sparrow and God’s Care\n## Songs, Birds, and Trust in Jesus\n## The Sparrow’s Home in God’s House\n## Jesus’ Sacrifice and Creation’s Renewal","[{\"question\":\"What does the text promise about the future of creation?\",\"answer\":\"It describes creation waiting for God’s sons to be revealed and being liberated from bondage to decay.
