You must keep the copyright and credits for authors, illustrators, etc.  \nThe Dove Who Flew For God  \n(Genesis 8:6-16)  \nLong, long ago when our world was quite new, there was a very special man named Noah. He was very special because he walked with God. And he walked and talked with God because he loved God. He knew that God loved him, and the love between them caused Noah to want to please God. Noah pleased God by doing exactly what God asked him to do.  \nBecause most of the people in the world had gone their own way and didn’t love God but only themselves, many of the animals had also become wild and fierce. God had never wanted that for His peaceable Kingdom on earth. He intended the lion to lie down with the lamb, not gobble it up. He intended people to live happily together. And God from the start of His world was determined to love people so they would love Him. That is why He was so happy with Noah, who loved the Lord with all his heart.  \nWhen God told Noah to build a big, big boat, called the Ark, Noah got to work and built it. When God told Noah to collect all sorts of creatures, Noah never could have completed such a big task as this without God’s help.  \nSome of the animals and birds were so tame, that it was not hard for Noah to gather them together. Among these were the doves and pigeons, who all belong to the same family of birds. They love to live with people and to make their home with them. They can learn to carry messages for them as the carrier pigeons do. When they fly out, they also fly back home.  \nWhen God was ready for Noah and his family to make their home in the new boat, the Ark, the doves and pigeons Noah chose were happy to go along with them. God even made some of every kind of wild animal willing to make the Ark their home because God can get the attention and respect of all these creatures.  \nAt the time God told Noah to enter the Ark, all the other passengers God had chosen were ready to go along, too. They didn’t have to have any tickets. No, God gave them a free ride, and they were to have all the food they needed. Just think of all the kinds of birdseed the different birds would need! A drawer full of this and a drawer full of that, and somehow the drawers never emptied. For after all, with all that Noah and his family needed to do to prepare, they knew that they needed God’s help for the long trip they were going to take.  \nGod later on would feed the people of Israel for forty years in the wilderness. God would feed Elijah with ravens or crows bringing him food. God later on would feed over 5,000 people with a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two little fish. Well, Noah and his family, with the animals, birds, and reptiles Noah had counted and brought into the Ark, were going to be in the Ark for almost a whole year while outside it was raining and flooding all over the earth.  \nNow you may have heard that Noah brought two of every kind into the Ark, following God’s instructions, but for many of the creatures God wanted more than two. In fact, of all the birds there were seven pairs, ora total of 14, for each kind. God certainly loved His birds.  \nNow among these birds there was a dove.
