You must keep the copyright and credits for authors, illustrators, etc.  \nThe Big, Big Fish And The Little Worm  \nJonah 1:17; 4:7-11  \nThe big, big fish swam lazily along in the big, big sea. This fish was as large or larger than a whale. When a terrible wind caused the waves to rise, the fish could go deep down in the water where it was calm and quiet, so he did. Now God had a plan for this great fish, so He caused him to move in a certain direction. Then just at the right time and place, he saw a man sinking down in front of him.“I’ve seen someone like that in a boat on top of the water,” he thought to himself,“but never down here in the deep.”  \nThe great fish opened his mouth wide, and the man slipped right in, which was just what God wanted to happen. God had sent the wind and the storm. And He had sent this fish to teach this man a lesson. God is always very busy teaching us lessons because He wants us to learn how to follow Him.  \nNow the man in the great fish was named Jonah. And what did Jonah need to learn? Well, God had told him to go east from his home to a great city where God wanted him to tell the people there about God’s love. God loved them so much that he wanted Jonah to tell them to stop their wicked ways and follow God’s ways.  \nJonah didn’t want to help these people. He didn’t care about them at all, not the men or the women, the young people, the children, or even the babies.  \nInstead of obeying God, Jonah got on a sailing ship which was going west on the big sea, the opposite direction from where God wanted him to go. God knew exactly what was happening, so He had sent the wind which caused the storm, which caused the ship to start to sink. The captain and the sailors found this out when Jonah told them that he was responsible for the great danger they were in.  \nHe said,“Since I am to blame for this storm, you must throw me in the sea and then it will calm down.”Finally, sadly, they agreed to do that. Jonah sank in the water, and then the wind stopped and the waves, too. The sailors were amazed that God had immediately quieted the storm which He had started. They worshipped Him and made promises to Him. And what about Jonah?  \nThat is when the great fish found Jonah sinking in thesea and swallowed him. Was this the end for Jonah? Not at all!  \nThe great fish didn’t eat him. No, God had a plan to save Jonah, using the fish to carry him to safety.  \nJonah was inside the fish, down in the darkness, for along time. He spent a lot of time praying and trusting God to help him. He knew that God had stopped him from going west, and he was sorry for all the trouble he had caused. Then God commanded the fish to take Jonah back to the dry land and cough him up. As Jonah reached the shore, the fish turned away and disappeared. He had finished the job God had given him to do.  \nWhen Jonah reached the first village on shore, he learned that three days and three nights had passed while he was in the big fish. He hadn’t been able to tell time while he was in the fish.
