It is the Gospel. It is the “good  \n”  \nnews.  \nHow do we find Bible messages? The Bible has two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament comes first. The second section is the New Testament. The two sections have 66 parts altogether. We call these parts books. Most Bibles have lists of these books on a front page.  \nJohn is the fourth book of the New Testament.“John 3:16” tells where the Gospel message is. John is the book, 3 is the number of the chapter and 16 is the number of the verse.  \nAll Bible references have these three parts. They are like addresses that tell the name of a country, the town, and the street number of someone’s house. Working with Bible references becomes easy with practice.  \nSome people say,“Where’s all this good news and love?\" There is much poverty in the world. Millions of people are hungry. Some are starving. They don’t know what to believe or who to trust. There is tension or war everywhere. Why?  \nThere are two great spirits at war, God and Satan. God loved the very first human beings, but He wanted them to be free to love Him. So He did not destroy Satan. The very first human beings chose Satan.  \nSatan is the father of lies, war, sickness, pain, confusion and hopelessness. But where men and women choose to serve God, there is always hope. God can act! The Bible says it.  \nThe Bible gives hope:  \nFor despair: God made everything – Genesis 1:1 and  \nJohn 1:1-5 . He is in charge.  \nFor heavy pain or grief: Psalm 23, Romans 8:26-28, I Corinthians 1:3-5 .
