But there are others, too, who loved God. And we can learn from their example. \nLet’s look at some of them. \nSERVANT GIRL \nIt doesn’t matter how old you are or how young you are. Old women and young women can serve God. Age is not important. \nThere was a little girl in Israel, the land of the Jews. We read about her in II Kings Chapter 5, verses 1 to 14. She did a big thing to help another person. \nThere was a war between Israel and Syria. The Syrian soldiers won the war. They took some Jewish people back to Syria and made them slaves. This little girl was one of them. The girl was a servant to a Syrian lady. The lady’s husband was the leader of the Syrian soldiers. His name was Naaman. \nNaaman had a very bad sickness on his skin. People didn’t know what to do for this sickness. Doctors could not cure it. Sometimes it would make people die. The little girl said to the lady,“I wish your husband could go to Israel. A prophet named Elisha is there. He could cure Naaman’s sickness.” \nWhen Naaman heard this, he told the king of Syria. The king of Syria wrote a letter to the king of Israel. In the letter he wrote,“This is Naaman. I want you to heal his skin sickness.” He gave the letter to Naamanand said,“Go to the king of Israel. Give him this letter.” Naaman took some men with him and went. \nThe king of Israel read the letter. He said,“I cannot heal this man.” But Elisha heard what had happened. He told his servant,“Go to Naaman. Tell him to wash himself seven times in the Jordan River. Then he will be well.” \nWhen Naaman heard this, he got angry. He said,“We have better rivers back in my home, in Syria. Why do I have to wash in this one?” But the men who came with him said,“The prophet told you to do something that is easy. Why can’t you do it?” \nSo Naaman went to the Jordan River. He washed himself in the river seven times. Then his sickness was completely gone! \nAll of this happened because of what the little servant girl said. The Syrians had taken her away from her family, away from her own country. She could have been angry at the Syrians. She could have spoken unkind words to them. But she was kind. She cared about Naaman and his wife. \nThis little girl had a strong faith. Even after bad things happened to her, she still believed in God. She believed that His prophet Elisha could do miracles. Because of that, a very important man was healed of his sickness. \nELIZABETH \nJohn the Baptist had a very special work. His work was telling people to get ready for Jesus. He said to them,“Stop doing bad things. Be honest. Love other people. Tell God you are sorry for your sins; then be baptized. Be ready for the coming of the Lord.” \nDo you know who was the mother of John the Baptist? It was Elizabeth. Elizabeth and her husband Zechariah were faithful to God. They followed all His rules. \nZechariah was a priest, a special worker in the Temple. One day he was at the Temple burning incense, a ","cbCairvht6pQzjQ5","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairvht6pQzjQ5","pdf",474277,1,31,"English","en",105,"# Women of the Bible\n## Servant Girl\n## Elizabeth","[{\"question\":\"What message does the servant girl’s story teach about serving God?\",\"answer\":\"It shows that serving God does not depend on age; both older and younger women can serve God with faith and kindness.\"},{\"question\":\"How was Naaman’s sickness healed according to the servant girl’s story?\",\"answer\":\"Naaman followed the prophet Elisha’s instructions and washed in the Jordan River seven times, and his sickness was completely gone.\"},{\"question\":\"Who was the mother of John the Baptist?\",\"answer\":\"John the Baptist’s mother was Elizabeth, who with her husband Zechariah was faithful to God.\"}]",1784294129,78,{"code":4,"msg":30,"data":31},"ok",{"site_id":24,"language":23,"slug":32,"title":13,"keywords":33,"description":14,"schema_data":34,"social_meta":85,"head_meta":87,"extra_data":89,"updated_unix":27},"literacy-international-she-served-the-lord-book-2-english-spiritual","",{"@graph":35,"@context":84},[36,53,67],{"@type":37,"itemListElement":38},"BreadcrumbList",[39,43,47,50],{"item":40,"name":41,"@type":42,"position":20},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":44,"name":45,"@type":42,"position":46},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":48,"name":12,"@type":42,"position":49},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/religion-spirituality/",3,{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":42,"position":52},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/literacy-international-she-served-the-lord-book-2-english-spiritual/90519/",4,{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":54,"author":55,"headline":13,"publisher":57,"fileFormat":60,"inLanguage":23,"description":14,"dateModified":61,"datePublished":61,"encodingFormat":60,"isAccessibleForFree":62,"interactionStatistic":63},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":56},"Person",{"url":40,"name":58,"@type":59},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-17",true,{"@type":64,"interactionType":65,"userInteractionCount":4},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":66},"ViewAction",{"@type":68,"mainEntity":69},"FAQPage",[70,76,80],{"name":71,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":73},"What message does the servant girl’s story teach about serving God?","Question",{"text":74,"@type":75},"It shows that serving God does not depend on age; both older and younger women can serve God with faith and kindness.","Answer",{"name":77,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":78},"How was Naaman’s sickness healed according to the servant girl’s story?",{"text":79,"@type":75},"Naaman followed the prophet Elisha’s instructions and washed in the Jordan River seven times, and his sickness was completely gone.",{"name":81,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":82},"Who was the mother of John the Baptist?",{"text":83,"@type":75},"John the Baptist’s mother was Elizabeth, who with her husband Zechariah was faithful to God.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":86,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":58,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":88,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":24},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":91},[92,96,100,104,109,114,119,124,127,130,134],{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":93,"show_sort_weight":94,"slug":95},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":46,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":97,"show_sort_weight":98,"slug":99},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":52,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":101,"show_sort_weight":102,"slug":103},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":105,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":110,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":115,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":125,"slug":126},20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":128,"show_sort_weight":125,"slug":129},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":131,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":132,"show_sort_weight":131,"slug":133},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":135,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":136,"show_sort_weight":105,"slug":137},19,"General","general"]
