He made all the birds, fish, animals and plants. God created this beautiful world for us to live in and enjoy. He gave it all to us. He made the skies, the stars and planets. God the Father also gives us His protection and His love.  \nJesus, God’s Son, was in heaven with God the Father. He was there before the beginning of time. He was equal with God the Father. Jesus had an honored and glorious place in heaven. But He gave up the comfortsand joys of heaven to come to earth and live among us. He came to teach us. He showed us what God the Father is like. He came to die for us, to rise from the dead and to bring us God’s forgiveness. All these are gifts that Jesus gives us.  \nThe Holy Spirit is a generous Giver. He gives us abilities that we would not have on our own. These are called “gifts of the Spirit” or “spiritual gifts.”  \nOne is the ability to teach; one is the ability to be wise. Another is the ability to pray for healing and have our prayers answered. We read about these gifts indifferent parts of the New Testament.  \nI Corinthians Chapter 12 tells about these gifts--  \n“There are different kinds of gifts. But it is the same Holy Spirit who gives them. There are different kinds of work to be done for Him. But the work is for the same Lord. There are different ways of doing His work. But it is the same God who uses all these ways in all people. The Holy Spirit works in each person indifferent ways for the good of all.  \n“One person is given the gift of teaching words of wisdom. Another person is given the gift of teaching what he learned and knows. These gifts are by the same Holy Spirit.  \n“One person receives the gift of faith. Another person receives the gift of healing. These gifts are given by the same Holy Spirit. One person is given the gift of doing powerful works.  \n“Another person is given the gift of speaking God’s Word. Another person is given the gift of telling the difference between the Holy Spirit and false spirits.  \n“Another person is given the gift of speaking in special sounds. Another person is given the gift of telling what these special sounds mean. But it is the same Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, who does all these things. He gives to each person as He wants to give.”(I Corinthians 12:4-11)  \nThe gift of wisdom means knowing what to do or what to say that will be the most helpful. Other people may not know what to do or say, but the person who has the gift of wisdom will know. He will be a wise counselor.  \nWhen a person has the gift of teaching what he has learned and knows, we say he has the gift of knowledge. It means that he knows what many other people do not know because the Holy Spirit gave him the knowledge. In John chapter 4, we read about Jesus meeting the woman at the well in Samaria.  \nJesus knew that the woman had been with many different men. He knew she had done many sins, eventhough He had never met her before. No person had told Him about her. But He had the gift of knowledge.  \nMany people have faith. We must have faith in order to please God (Hebrews 11:6) . But there is a special kind of faith that we need when something hard happens to us.
