Classification accuracy is also provided. The sample consisted of 23,941 students from three school districts in Texas in the 2022–2023 school year. Students took Istation Reading in the beginning-of-theyear (BOY), middle-of-the-year (MOY), and end-of-the-year (EOY) assessment months and STAAR during the spring assessment month. \nThe Pearson Product Moment correlations of Istation Reading MOY and STAAR range from 0.74 to 0.80 and 0.73 to 0.78 for Istation Reading EOY and STAAR at spring benchmarking. They indicate strong relationships between Istation Reading and the STAAR Reading assessment. \nThe linking study between STAAR and Istation Reading is conducted using multinomial logistic regression. A low probability of attaining a level was ≤.330, a medium probability of attaining a level was .331–. 660, and a high probability of attaining a level was set at ≥ .661. \nAt MOY, to achieve a high probability of attaining the STAAR Meets performance level, students had to attain Istation Reading overall scores at the following percentile ranks: \nThird grade: 60th \nFourth grade: 60th \nFifth grade: 50th \nSixth grade: 55th \nSeventh grade: 45th \nEighth grade: 40th \nTo achieve a high probability of attaining the STAAR Masters performance level, \nstudents had to attain Istation Reading overall scores at the following percentile ranks: Third grade: 95th \nFourth grade: 90th \nFifth grade: 85th \nSixth grade: 95th \nSeventh grade: 90th \nEighth grade: 75th \nAt EOY, students had to attain Istation Reading scores at the following percentile ranks to have a high probability of attaining the STAAR Meets performance level: \nThird grade: 60th \nFourth grade: 60th \nFifth grade: 50th \nSixth grade: 60th \nSeventh grade: 50th \nEighth grade: 40th \nTo achieve a high probability of attaining the STAAR Masters performance level, students had to attain Istation Reading scores at the following percentile ranks: \nThird grade: 95th \nFourth grade: 90th \nFifth grade: 85th \nSixth grade: 99th \nSeventh grade: 95th \nEighth grade: 80th \nClassification accuracy analyses were conducted. At MOY, the area under the curve (AUC) ranged from 0.78 to 0.81, indicating that the percentage of students correctly classified on the Istation Reading with respect to the STAAR Reading assessment was approximately 80% across grades. Sensitivity ranged from 0.75 to 0.84, indicating that approximately 80% of students who performed above the cut point on Istation Reading attained the Meets performance level or above on the STAAR assessment. Specificity ranged from 0.76 to 0.84, indicating that approximately 80% of students who performed below the cut point on Istation Reading did not attain Meets or above on the STAAR assessment. Istation Reading accurately predicted meeting reading proficiency on the STAAR assessment about 80% of the time at the MOY. \nAt EOY, the AUC ranged from 0.75 to 0.81, indicating that approximately 80% of students were correctly classified on the Istation Reading with respect to the STAAR Reading assessment across grades. Sensitivity ranged from 0.75 to 0.83, indicating that approximately 78% of students who performed above the cut point on Istation Reading attained the Meets performance level or above on the STAAR assessment. Specificity ranged from 0.75 to 0.84, indicating that approximately 81% of students who performed below the cut point on Istation Reading did not attain Meets or above on the STAAR assessment. Istation Reading accurately predicted meeting reading proficiency on the STAAR assessment about 80% of the time at EOY. \nTable of Contents \nIntroduction 5 \nBackground 6 \nIstation Reading Assessment 6 \nSTAAR Re","cbCaikKwa7zcN2UC","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikKwa7zcN2UC","pdf",1656799,35,"English","# Introduction\n## Background\n## Istation Reading Assessment\n## STAAR Reading Assessment\n# Methodology\n## Analytical Sample\n## Analytical Approach\n# Results\n## Istation Reading and STAAR Descriptive Statistics\n## Correlational Study: Istation Reading and STAAR\n## Linking Study: Istation Reading and STAAR Reading\n## Probabilities for the Middle of the Year\n## Probabilities for the End of the Year\n## Classification Accuracy: Istation Reading and STAAR\n# Conclusion\n# References","[{\"question\":\"What student group and timeframe were used for this STAAR–Istation linking study?\",\"answer\":\"The sample included 23,941 students from three Texas school districts during the 2022–2023 school year.
