They highlighted the need to continue to deliver critical services to the population, while helping the government respond quickly to urgent emergency response needs. In this context, Directors encouraged the Bank to update its damage and loss assessment as soon as possible.  \nDirectors commended the Bank for its commitment to ensure a continued focus on addressing long-term development needs through investing in critical infrastructure in Lebanon in the energy sector. They called for measures to enhance transmission networks and supported citizen engagement to help support clean and affordable electricity supply in particular to vulnerable populations. In this context, they acknowledged the importance of the full World Bank Group role for necessary public and private investments, including in the water and digital sectors down the line.  \nDirectors emphasized the importance of adequate oversight measures and close monitoring of risks to planned project investments and stressed stronger stakeholder coordination. Directors agreed that restoring basic functionality of the electricity network is a priority for economic activity, job creation, and to prevent disruption of other services.
