The workshop used an interactive tool, GenAI Teachable Machine, enabling participants to build and deploy machine learning applications without coding. Working in collaborative groups, participants created AI applications aligned with their interests and curriculum subjects. The chapter presents workshop design, outcomes, participant and instructor reflections, and recommendations for adopting similar training to develop AI literacy competencies.","Learning AI literacy in collaborative projects with an AI Education Tool by Making Machine Learning-Driven Apps: A case study from Finnish pre-service \nteacher education \nJari Laru, Ismail Celik, Iiris Kivioja, Kati Mäkitalo \nJari Laru, Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu \n[Jari.laru@oulu.fi](Jari.laru@oulu.fi) \nIsmail Celik, Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu \n[ismail.celik@oulu.fi](ismail.celik@oulu.fi) \nIiris Kivioja, Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu \n[iiris.kivioja@oulu.fi](iiris.kivioja@oulu.fi) \nKati Mäkitalo, Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu \n[kati.makitalo@oulu.fi](kati.makitalo@oulu.fi) \n[Authors](Authors)’ Biographies: \nJari Laru, University of Oulu, Finland \nDr. Jari Laru is a senior lecturer in Teacher education, School, and Society (TESS) research unit at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Oulu, Finland and is alumni of Learning and Educational Technology Research Lab (LET) .
