In our classes we use our share of information technology, but the primary means of instruction is the interaction between individuals. This includes teacher and student interaction, of course, but as we expand our projectbased and clinical education programmes, it also includes student-student and student-client interactions. \nThe reputation of a law school depends, almost entirely, on the reputation of its people— its faculty and staff, its students, and its alumni — and their impact on the world. \nAs a result of the efforts of all these people, NUS Law has risen through the ranks of our peer law schools to consolidate our reputation as Asia’s leading law school, ranked by London’s QS Rankings as the 10th best in the world. \nLet me share with you just a few examples of some of the achievements this year by our faculty, our students, and our alumni. \nOUTSTANDING FACULTY \nOur faculty continues to grow in number and prestige. \nIn 2012, we launched the new Centre for Asian Legal Studies, which is fast becoming a global centre of excellence for the study of law in Asia. Our aim is nothing less than to move the focus of Asian legal studies as a discipline from Europe and North America to Singapore. \nNUS Law faculty, in addition to teaching, produced impactful scholarship — ranging from textbooks that define a field to insightful articles that reshape thinking about an issue. We continued to engage directly with the profession, notably through pro bono work that frequently involves students, but also on issues of law reform where our views are sought by government. \nGolden Years Project—Helping those in need \nHIGH-ACHIEVING STUDENTS \nOur students continued to excel both in the classroom and beyond. \nAmong many academic prize winners, this year’s valedictorian, Amos Toh ’12 , topped the first class honours list at NUS Law and the","cbCaitW5WJ6Te7im","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitW5WJ6Te7im","pdf",5284383,17,"English","# Message From The Dean\n## Law School Highlights\n## Faculty Feature\n# Class Reunions","[{\"question\":\"What core idea does the Dean present in the message from the Dean?\",\"answer\":\"The Dean states that a law school is fundamentally people, shaped by the reputation and impact of faculty, staff, students, and alumni.\"},{\"question\":\"What does the issue highlight under outstanding faculty?\",\"answer\":\"It describes the launch of the Centre for Asian Legal Studies and faculty scholarship and engagement through teaching, pro bono work, and law reform.\"},{\"question\":\"Which student achievements are emphasized in the issue?\",\"answer\":\"The issue highlights academic excellence and international competition results, along with prizes and scholarships such as the Wee Chong Jin Scholarship in Law.\"}]","LawLink2012 - The Accidental Lawyer | PDF",1792675659,26]
