This particular enrichment programme is designed for students thinking of studying Law at University and those who will be applying to competitive higher education institutions. It starts in the Lower Sixth Form after the Christmas vacation. \nAn A-Level in Law is not required to study Law at University, and in fact, can give students too superficial an idea about the topics covered. Nor is a Law degree a pre-requisite for becoming a solicitor or barrister; there are alternative routes to professional qualification. A Law degree is nevertheless a popular and well-respected degree choice, albeit a competitive one requiring good to excellent A-Level grades, depending on university choice. \nProgramme contents \nLaw Plus \nThe programme includes ‘Law Plus’, a part of the school’s ‘Plus’programme, that allows students to explore legal topics and the requirements of the Law National Admissions Test (LNAT) which is required by most of the top Universities including Oxford and Cambridge. Students will: \n• Attend 6 weekly meetings in each of the Easter and Summer terms \n• Discuss and write LNAT style essays \n• Discuss what a career in Law might look like \n• Explore legal issues related to the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) topics chosen by members of the group \nAdmissions prep \nStudents can prepare for their next steps with the support of our teachers for: \n• Oxbridge applications (including Interview practice) Students on the programme also receive \n• Guidance on selecting universities and courses \n• Help with personal statements \n• References \n• Continued support for gap year students \nSkills gained \nSome of the many skills gained for participants of this programme include: \n• The Art of Persuasion \n• Structuring an argument within a tight boundary \n• Detailed analysis and logical thinking \nTo find out more about this programme or to ask any questions, please contact Jackie Watson.","cbCaitR5xAveg8OO","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitR5xAveg8OO","pdf",126702,"English","# Programme overview\n## Law Plus\n## Admissions prep\n## Skills gained","[{\"question\":\"When does the Law Programme start and who is it for?\",\"answer\":\"The programme starts in the Lower Sixth Form after the Christmas vacation.
