She wanted to understand how they felt about their lives, what their experiences had been like, what they wished they had or hadn’t done. She realized there is so much we can learn from those who have lived so many years on earth that now they can practically see death walking by their side. As a result, she began to spend more time with her patients. She wanted to understand their grief and, in return, what she found was that there was one sentence, hurtful as it was, that was common in almost everyone. It was: \n“I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself.” \nIt’s been more than a month since I read Bronnie’s book, but this one sentence still haunts my spirit late at night. I keep coming back to it like a moth to a flame. I keep thinking if it is a common trait in all of us to kill our finest ideas and impulses only to repeat,“I wish I’d had the courage to do this and that”? Have we all decided that we will make our lives a collection of ‘what could have been’ moments? Do we really want what we say we want, or do we just like fantasising about a different life where things are different so, in this life, we can play the role we are comfortable with? \nThe role of a victim. To sit down with our friends or colleagues and tell them what we ‘used to’ dream of, what we ‘used to’enjoy, who we ‘used to’ \nlove, but maybe, sadly, ‘t was not meant to be.’ \nI wonder if things really were not meant to be, or if it is another sentence that helps us play victim and avoid taking responsibility for the way our lives turned out. \nTake a moment. Now, think about how many ideas, dreams, people, and hobbies you let go of because you thought you would have a tomorrow to start fresh. How many dreams died a slow death because you said ‘later ’? How many friends and people drifted away because you never had the courage to have the difficult conversations or reply to their text when you had the time, instead of putting it off for ‘later ’ until it was too late and those who loved you felt ignored and unseen? How many hobbies became a memory of the past because you said ‘later’? How much was it destiny, and how much was it your own responsibility? \nHaving said that, I am not asking you to dig the grave of the past to hate yourself, but I am asking you to question how much more you have to lose to realiz","cbCaitFfhVl62Hxe","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitFfhVl62Hxe","pdf",604363,2,1,60,"English","en",105,"# Introduction\n## “I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself”的引子\n## 你用“later”推迟了多少梦想与对话\n## 不为过去翻旧账，而是审视真正的代价\n## 个人经历：想象的生活与现实的落差","[{\"question\":\"作者在引言中引用了什么来源来引出主题？\",\"answer\":\"作者引用Bronnie Ware在《The Top Five Regrets of the Dying》中提到的共同遗憾：“I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself.”\"},{\"question\":\"“later”在书中象征什么？\",\"answer\":\"“later”象征一种反复推迟行动的选择，它会让梦想慢慢死亡，并导致人际沟通被忽略、关系渐行渐远。\"},{\"question\":\"作者希望读者在引言中做什么改变？\",\"answer\":\"作者并不要求读者憎恨过去，而是促使读者质问：还要失去多少，才愿意立刻开始做那些能带来积极改变的事情。\"}]","LATER , THE COFFEE GETS COLD - Olivia Woods - 引言 | PDF",1785474485,92,{"code":4,"msg":32,"data":33},"ok",{"site_id":25,"language":24,"slug":34,"title":13,"keywords":35,"description":14,"schema_data":36,"social_meta":87,"head_meta":89,"extra_data":91,"updated_unix":29},"later-the-coffee-gets-cold-olivia-woods-introduction","",{"@graph":37,"@context":86},[38,54,69],{"@type":39,"itemListElement":40},"BreadcrumbList",[41,45,48,51],{"item":42,"name":43,"@type":44,"position":21},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":46,"name":47,"@type":44,"position":20},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",{"item":49,"name":12,"@type":44,"position":50},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/lifestyle/",3,{"item":52,"name":13,"@type":44,"position":53},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/later-the-coffee-gets-cold-olivia-woods-introduction/115547/",4,{"url":52,"name":13,"@type":55,"author":56,"headline":13,"publisher":58,"fileFormat":61,"inLanguage":24,"description":14,"dateModified":62,"datePublished":63,"encodingFormat":61,"isAccessibleForFree":64,"interactionStatistic":65},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":57},"Person",{"url":42,"name":59,"@type":60},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-08-16","2026-07-31",true,{"@type":66,"interactionType":67,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":68},"ViewAction",{"@type":70,"mainEntity":71},"FAQPage",[72,78,82],{"name":73,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":75},"作者在引言中引用了什么来源来引出主题？","Question",{"text":76,"@type":77},"作者引用Bronnie Ware在《The Top Five Regrets of the Dying》中提到的共同遗憾：“I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself.”","Answer",{"name":79,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":80},"“later”在书中象征什么？",{"text":81,"@type":77},"“later”象征一种反复推迟行动的选择，它会让梦想慢慢死亡，并导致人际沟通被忽略、关系渐行渐远。",{"name":83,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":84},"作者希望读者在引言中做什么改变？",{"text":85,"@type":77},"作者并不要求读者憎恨过去，而是促使读者质问：还要失去多少，才愿意立刻开始做那些能带来积极改变的事情。","https://schema.org",{"og:url":52,"og:type":88,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":59,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":90,"canonical":52},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":25},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":93},[94,98,102,106,110,115,120,125,130,133,135],{"id":21,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":95,"show_sort_weight":96,"slug":97},"Story & Novel",90,"story-novel",{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":99,"show_sort_weight":100,"slug":101},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":53,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":103,"show_sort_weight":104,"slug":105},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":107,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":108,"show_sort_weight":22,"slug":109},5,"Comic","comic",{"id":111,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":112,"show_sort_weight":113,"slug":114},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":116,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":117,"show_sort_weight":118,"slug":119},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":121,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":122,"show_sort_weight":123,"slug":124},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":126,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":127,"show_sort_weight":128,"slug":129},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":128,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":131,"show_sort_weight":128,"slug":132},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":11,"slug":134},"lifestyle",{"id":136,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":47,"category_name":137,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":138},19,"General","general"]
