Thanks fora very high attendance rate for parent conferences! The partnership between parents and teacher is vital in promoting students success. It is clear that we share that priority! Thanks also to all of the volunteers that made the Book Fair another success! By the time you get this newsletter, we will have just had our first grade Christmas program and tonight we will have our Kindergarten Christmas performance. It is always great to have all of the Lakeland Hills musical talent on display! Also, this week, we will be delivering the Giving Tree gifts to the families that the PTA, local businesses, and the staff sponsored this year. Your generosity was outstanding and it is pure joy to be able to deliver these gifts to the families on behalf of all of you. \nGR K-5 Intervention Begins Jan. 11th: \nWhen we return from winter vacation on January 4th, we will be gearing up for our grades one thru five intervention programs. They will start the week of January 11th. Students are invited by their classroom teachers based on several assessment scores and current classroom performance. Funding for these programs has come from several sources including a generous grant from all of you through the PTA, as well as another grant through the district’s Language Assistance Program (LAP) and another small funding source through our district ELL (English Language Learners) \nprogram. These are great opportunities to provide that extra support that many students need to sustain their academic growth. \nParking Update: Thanks for the continued collaboration and patience as we work to keep our parking lots and pickup/drop off areas as safe and efficient as possible. In the pick up/drop off areas please remember to pull all the way forward, stay in your vehicle, and load/ unload students from the curb side of your vehicle. Also please remember to always use the crosswalks in an effort to maximize safety and set a good example for our students. For additional parking for class events, you may park at the Community Center or on Panorama Drive, past the entrances to Verona and Sorano, beyond the “No Parking” zone. Thanks again for your continued effort and patience! \nI hope you all have a wonderful Winter \nHoliday!
