\nThe Robbins &Myers Moyno⑧Pump is one of themost versatile pumps available. It has been proven inthousands of applications over the past 50 years.Itis backed by the experience gained over the years, both in application and manufacturing know-how. \nThe Moyno progressing cavity pump is a single-screw rotary pump. The pumping action is created bythe single helical rotor rolling eccentrically in thedouble threaded helix of the stator. In its revolution, the rotor forms in conjunction with the stator aseries of sealed cavities 180 degrees apart. As therotor turns the cavities progress from the suction tothe discharge. As one cavity diminishes, theopposing cavity is increasing at exactly the samerate. Thus, the sum of the two discharges is aconstant volume. The result is a pulsation-lesspositive displacement flow with no valves. \nWARNING \n1.Enclose all rotating belts, pulleys, drive shafts, etc.,to comply with acceptable industry safety standardsfor rotating equipment.Failure to comply could resultin personal injury. \n2.All pulleys have speed limitations.Refer to pulleymanufacturer's literature for specifications and followall recommendations,to prevent personal injury. \nNAMEPLATE DATA \nThe Moyno Pump nameplate, located on thebearing housing, carries the serial number, framesize, and type designation. All are extremelyimportant and must be used when ordering spareparts. \nRecord the nameplate data of your pump in thespaces provided in the heading of Page 3. \nMoyno Pumps are identified by Frame and Type.Pump Frame is essentially an indication of size.Itconsists of a number,a letter, and a number(i.e.2L4).The first number indicates the number ofstages in the pumping elements. The letter indicatesthe model. The final number indicates the size of therotor-stator pumping elements.A frame 2L4 pump, therefore, has two stages of size 4 pumpingelements. \nThe\"L\"in the frame size indicates a standardrelationship between the housing, bearings, and driveshaft and the size of the pumping elements.Manyvariations may be made by adapting smaller elementsizes to a larger drive end size. This may benecessary due to the severity of a specific pumpingapplication. In cases where the drive end (housing, bearings, and drive shaft)is one size larger than theelement size normally used, the pump is referred to \nas an“M”frame pump(i.e.3M3).If the drive end istwo sizes larger than the element size, the pump isreferred to as a“P”frame. Thus,a frame 3L4,3M3,and 3P2 would all use a common drive end. \nType designation is a series of letters whichidentify the\"Materials of Construction\"incomponent groups of parts. The usual typedesignation will consist of three letters. \nThe first letter identifies the material of the suctionhousing casting or the body casting where thebearing housing is a part of the suction housing. \nC-Cast Iron \nE—Alloy cb-20 Stainless \nH-Hastelloy“C” \nM-Monel \nS-316 Stainless Steel \nW-Cast Steel (Available only on 1L14 body) \nX-Special to application \nThe second letter indicates the material used in thedrive shaft, pins, connecting rod, rotor, and other minormetallic parts in contact with the material being pumped.
