It’s even greater than faith and hope. Through Paul’s words, God—the only One who loves perfectly—shows us how to love . \nWonder Truth: God Shows Us How to Love \nScripture: 1 Corinthians 13 \nWATCH GOD’S BIG STORY WORD OF WONDER \nWork together this week on memorizing this verse! \nThe three most important things to have are faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love. \n—1 Corinthians 13:13 \nLOVE NEVER FAILS ELEMENTARY VIDEO \nEARLY CHILDHOOD VIDEO \nWONDER ABOUT IT! \n• What is one thing you’re curious about from this week’s part of God’s big story? \n• How can you live differently or respond to God with what you’re learning? \n• \nWALKING IN LOVE LESSON 2 \nFAMILY CONVERSATIONS \nFamilies, use this to prompt conversationsat the table, in the car, and anywhere else your family experiences life together. \n• What is love? \n• How do you know when someone loves you? \n• What are some examples of how God shows us love? \n• Is it easy or hard to love like God loves us? Why do you think so? \n• What’s one way you want to love people better but need God’s help? \nLove Journal \nFor this activity you’ll need paper and a writing utensil, or family members can choose to type their responses on an electronic device. Say: In this week’s story from the Bible, we saw love described indifferent ways. It’s patient and kind. It doesn’t brag or get angry easily. Love doesn’t want what belongs to others, and it doesn’t look out only for itself. Now think about our family. Do you show love to your family members that way? None of us loves perfectly, but God shows us how to love. We can ask Him to help us love like He does. \nEach person can write a journal reflecting on the ways she shows love to others. When does she show patience and kindness? Where does she need the Holy Spirit’s help to love more like God loves? As family members journal, they can write prayers asking the Holy Spirit to help them in the areas where they don’t show love as God loves. Younger children can draw pictures that show how they love. \nShowing Love \nFor this activity, set aside time as a family to brainstorm and get creative together! Talk with your kids: In this week’s story from the Bible, we learned about different words that describe love. Love is patient and kind, it looks out for other people, and it always protects. God shows us how to love this way. Let’s try to show others love like God does! \nAs a family, pick a person whom you want to love well. You may each pick a person or decide on one person to love together. Then pick one of the characteristics of love from 1 Corinthians 13, and do an act of love for the person you chose that reflects this characteristic. For example, you might show patient love by helping a younger child with homework, or kind love by baking cookies for a neighbor. Before you begin, pray together, asking the Holy Spirit to show your family who needs to see God’s love and to show your family how to love like God does. \nWALKING IN LOVE LESSON 2","cbCaioeRe6o1w4WC","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioeRe6o1w4WC","pdf",141913,"English","# Wonder Truth: God Shows Us How to Love\n## Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 13\n## Family Conversations\n## Love Journal\n## Showing Love - Creative Family Activity","[{\"question\":\"How can families apply the lesson at home?\",\"answer\":\"Families can hold table or car conversations, complete a love journal (or have younger children draw), and brainstorm creative ways to show love by choosing one love characteristic from 1 Corinthians 13 and performing an act of love.\"}]","L2-Love-Wonder-at-Home | PDF"]
