Commonly mistaken items included Mylanta and Tums for SweetTarts, Sine-off for Reese's Pieces, and Coricidin for M&Ms. The study noted that pre-literate kindergarteners were even more prone to confusing medicine for candy. These results were presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics national conference, underscoring the critical need for vigilance in storing medicines to prevent accidental ingestion and potential harm, especially when children are present.
