The plan supports prediction, sequencing, and main idea understanding, while reinforcing that books are composed of words. Activities follow a day-by-day routine: model reading fluently, revisit with reduced picture discussion, then invite shared reading using flashcards, followed by volunteer page reading and matching words, and finally dramatization of the story.","Kalab au di Cilla \nKerbau si Cilla \nRosecilla Bisius \nKadazan Penampang Story Book \nKalabau di Cilla \nKerbau si Cilla \nRosecilla Bisius \nBernadette Peter Lidadun \nImages by Rosecilla Bisius & Bernadette Peter Lidadun (Canva & Sora), © 2025 Kumpulan Bahasa Etnik Kadazan . It promotes enjoyment of storybooks, development of vocabulary, the skills of prediction, sequencing and main idea, and the understanding that books are made up of words . \nOn Monday, the teacher shows everyone the cover of the book reads the title, while moving a finger under it turns to the first page, and discusses the picture (asks the children to predict what will happen) reads the text on the first page, fluently (not slowly), and asks the children what they think they will see on each page. (The teacher is the only one “reading.”) \nOn Tuesday, the teacher shows everyone the book, and reads the story again, following the words with a finger, without as much discussion of the pictures . \nOn Wednesday, the teacher invites children to join in with “reading” when the story comes to parts which are familiar to them shows a flashcard from the story and tells the class what the card says, and invites children to find the same word in the storybook (or to match the card with the word in the book to see if it is the same) . On Thursday, the teacher points smoothly to the words in the story and lets some volunteers “read” a page, if they can remember the story by now, and lets the children match the flashcards to the words in the story. \nOn Friday, the children act out (dramatize) the story as others help the teacher “read” it. \nKivaa kalab au di Cilla. \nAb au o ngaan kala baudi Cilla.","cbCaiv9QFCIHVYBN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiv9QFCIHVYBN","pdf",1569339,5,1,24,"English","en",105,"# Teacher Use Plan\n## Monday: Cover, title reading, and first-page discussion\n## Tuesday: Re-read the story with less picture discussion\n## Wednesday: Shared “reading” with flashcards\n## Thursday: Volunteer reading and flashcard-to-word matching\n## Friday: Dramatize the story","[{\"question\":\"What are the literacy goals of the “Kalab au di Cilla” Big Book plan?\",\"answer\":\"The plan aims to promote enjoyment of storybooks, develop vocabulary, and build prediction, sequencing, and main-idea skills while helping learners understand that books are made up of words.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the teacher introduce the book on Monday?\",\"answer\":\"The teacher shows the cover, reads the title with a finger under it, turns to the first page, discusses the picture and asks children to predict, then reads the text fluently and asks what they think they will see on each page.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens on Wednesday and Thursday to increase student participation?\",\"answer\":\"On Wednesday, children join in with “reading” during familiar parts using flashcards and matching words in the story.
