Her father knew it was a safe path to the grandmother’s house so he said that she could go on her own .  \nAs Deborah left her compound she passed an acacia tree on the path.  \nShe noticed that a branch that stuck out over the path had small yellow blossomson it. The yellow blossoms were round like a very small ball. She touched the yellow blossoms and they were soft. When she pulled her finger away she saw that the end of her finger was a little bit yellow too .  \nWhat a beautiful yellow blossom thought Deborah.  \nDeborah walked on . Some cows were far ahead on the path. She saw that some large white birds were walking around among the cows . The birds were pure, clean white like cotton . Deborah wanted to look at them more closely.  \nAs she came close to them they flew up into the sky and moved away from her . What beautiful white birds thought Deborah.  \nAlong the path Deborah spied three, tiny butterflies hovering just above the ground. She slowly crept closer and then stood very, very still. When she was close she saw that the butterflies were blue like the sky. They were busy and didn’t seem to notice her . She put out her finger gently to touch one .  \nAs if the wind had blown them, together they wafted away. What beautiful blue butterflies thought Deborah.  \nFurther along, the path was covered in black ash where someone had been burning their fields.
