They smeared lambs’blood on the doorposts of their homes.  \nThat evening they quickly ate the Passover meal in their homes. They were ready to leave Egypt.  \nAt midnight, the Lord killed the firstborn son in every Egyptian family, including Pharaoh’s son. Even the firstborn of prisoners died.
