It recounts how Joseph, sold into slavery in Egypt, became a trusted servant to Potiphar, an officer of the king and captain of the palace guard. The narrative highlights that the LORD was with Joseph, ensuring his success in all endeavors. Potiphar, recognizing Joseph's effectiveness and the divine favor upon him, placed him in charge of his entire household and property. This blessing extended to Potiphar's entire estate, both in the house and in the fields, due to Joseph's presence. Despite Potiphar's complete trust, which led him to oversee everything except his own meals, the story introduces a pivotal conflict: Potiphar's wife became infatuated with Joseph, who was described as well-built and handsome. She repeatedly attempted to seduce Joseph, inviting him to lie with her. The document emphasizes Joseph's integrity and his refusal to yield to temptation, setting the stage for future challenges in his life. The narrative draws directly from biblical scripture, with clear citations to Genesis 39, and is accompanied by illustrations by Noel Dapit.
