Her two boys, Joseph and Benjamin, were his favorite sons. This story is about some of the problems that Joseph faced in his life and how God was always with him. \nWhen Joseph was seventeen years old, Jacob made him a special robe. This made Joseph’s brothers jealous and they hated him and would not speak to him. \nOne time Joseph had some dreams. He told the dreams to his brothers. He said,“In one dream we were tying sheaves of wheat in the field. My sheaf stood up straight. All of yours bowed down to mine. In the second dream the sun, moon and eleven stars bowed down to me.” \nHis brothers made fun of him and said,“So you think you are going to be a king and rule over us?”Then they hated him even more because of his dreams. \nOne day Jacob said to Joseph,“Go find your brothers and see if they are safe and if the flock is all right.” \nSo Joseph went after his brothers and found them with his father’s flock of sheep. \nThey saw him coming and before he reached them decided to kill him. “Here comes that dreamer,”they said,“Let’s kill him and throw his body into a well. We can say that a wild animal killed him.”Reuben heard them and tried to save Joseph.“Don’t kill him,” he said,“Just throw him into a well, but don’t hurt him.” He planned to save him later. \nWhen Joseph reached his brothers, they caught him, tore off his special robe and threw him in a dry well. \nWhile they were eating, a caravan of Ishmaelite traders came along. Judah said to his brothers,“Let’s sell Joseph to these traders. Then we won’t have to hurt him; after all, he is our own brother.”So they sold him to the traders who took him to Egypt. \nWhen this happened, Reuben was away tending the flock. When he went to the well he found that Joseph was not there. He was very upset and said,“The boy is not there! What am I going todo?” \nThey decided to kill a goat and dip Joseph’s robe in its blood. \nThen they took the robe to their father and said they had found it in the wilderness. \nJacob recognised it and said,“Oh no! Some wild animal has killed Joseph. He has been torn to pieces!” Jacob mourned for his son a long time and refused to be comforted. \nThe Ishmaelites took Joseph to Egypt and sold him to a man named Potiphar. The LORD was with Joseph and made him successful. Potiphar was pleased with him and put him in charge of his house and everything he owned. \nJoseph was handsome and his master’s wife began to desire him. She asked him to go to bed with her. He refused and said to her,“Look, my master has put me in charge of everything he has. He has not kept back anything from me except you. I cannot sin against God.” Although she asked Joseph day after day, he would not go to bed with her. \nBut one day Joseph went into the house alone todo his work. She caught him by his robe and said,“Come to bed with me.” But he ran away, leaving his robe in her hand. She was angry, and when Potiphar came home she told him that Joseph had come into her room and tried to rape her. She said,“See, here is the robe h","cbCaif3vZi6ydiKx","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaif3vZi6ydiKx","pdf",2346087,1,42,"English","en",105,"# Introduction\n## Joseph’s special robe and his brothers’ jealousy\n## Joseph’s dreams and their hatred\n## Thrown into a well and sold to traders\n## Joseph in Egypt and service under Potiphar\n## Temptation, refusal, and the false accusation","[{\"question\":\"Why did Joseph’s brothers become jealous of him?\",\"answer\":\"Jacob gave Joseph a special robe, and Joseph’s brothers hated him and would not speak to him.
