It is presented as an English Spiritual publication from copyright © 2004 by Kartidaya, allowing for non-commercial use, adaptation, and sharing with proper attribution. The text features illustrations by Fred Adlao and utilizes scripture from the Good News Bible. The core of the document recounts the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, highlighting their contrasting approaches to prayer and their spiritual standing. The Pharisee, self-righteous and boastful, highlights his adherence to religious laws, while the tax collector, acknowledging his sinfulness, seeks divine mercy. Jesus concludes that the humbler, repentant tax collector is justified before God. The document also includes Jesus' embrace of children, emphasizing that the Kingdom of God belongs to those with childlike faith and humility, thereby contrasting worldly pride with the divine value of lowliness.","Jesus Teaches about Humility \nLUKE 18:9-30 \nEnglish Spiritual \nCopyright © 2004, Kartidaya \nYou may not use this work for commercial purposes. Large crowds of people came to hear him teach. \nThis book is about Jesus teaching on the kind of follower that pleases God. \nTo some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: \n“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. \nLuke 18:9-10 \nThe Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ \nLuke 18:11-12 \nBut the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, `God, have mercy on me, asinner.’ \nLuke 18:13 \nI tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” \nLuke 18:14 \nPeople were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. \nLuke 18:15 \nBut Jesus called the children to him and said,“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. \nLuke 18:16","cbCaigwnEHCKI2st","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigwnEHCKI2st","pdf",1798005,1,23,"English","en",105,"# Jesus Teaches about Humility\n## The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector\n## Jesus Welcomes the Little Children","[{\"question\":\"What is the main message of the parable told by Jesus in Luke 18:9-14?\",\"answer\":\"The parable teaches that those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted, illustrating that genuine righteousness comes from humility and repentance, not self-righteous pride.\"},{\"question\":\"Who are the two men in Jesus' parable, and what are their prayers?\",\"answer\":\"The two men are a Pharisee and a tax collector.
