For me, it means diving into diverse genres and trying something new. My TBR—To Be Read—pile is always stacked high. Maybe I’ll read a space opera, followed by a memoir, and top it off with a police procedural. Or I can travel the world, reading books from Africa, the Philippines, and Italy. \nI’m also going to level up my library activities. I’m going to level up my emergency toolkit and learn more about what should be in my“go” bag—and hope that I don’t need to use it. I’m going to getup close (maybe not too close) with some wildlife from the Wildlife Images Rehabilitation Center. And while I’m not very crafty, I might try my hand at one of our Take & Make craft kits this summer. \nI am not a gamer, but I did get an opportunity to play a video game in the Gaming Cave in Eagle Point. I raced around a track and spent about as much time bouncing around the edges of it as I did staying on the pavement. I’m pretty sure I coasted in dead last, but it didn’t matter; I was smiling the whole way through. The Gaming Cave is popular with the kids in Eagle Point, who far outshine me on any virtual racecourse. \nWe recently added video games to our collection, or you can check out games as well as books and movies this summer. \nSummer is a time to relax and recharge. Why not use it as a time to challenge yourself and learn something new? Level Up and enter fall ready to face new challenges. \nLEVEL UP! \nSummer Reading Program \nJune 1 – August 31, 2023 \nRead books, attend programs, and win prizes! \nSummer Reading Challenge \nRead, track your progress, and earn badges—all through our online reading portal on Beanstack. \nFree Summer Programs \nHave fun with our wide array of storytimes, performances, STEM programs, and Take & Make kits. \nWin Prizes \nTrack the number of books or minutes you read, write reviews, and attend programs for more opportunities to win: \nWinners in the children’s age group will be able to choose between a Family Fun Pack for a family of four at the Family Fun Center, a science kit and membership to a local museum (ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum, The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon, Crater Rock Museum, etc.), or a LEGO Kit. \nTeen winners will choose between Switch Lite Bundle, Escape Room for four, or an Astral Games gift card. \nAdult prize options include a gift certificate at your choice of local spa to Level Up Your Chill, a Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure to Level Up Your Altitude, and Family Fun Center gift certificate to Level Up Your Fun. \nEach library branch will award additional prize","cbCaidcSz0Z3ohdz","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidcSz0Z3ohdz","pdf",53204032,48,"English","# Summer Reading Program\n## Dates, challenge, sign-up\n# Level Up Events\n## Kids programs and performances\n## Storytelling and animal meet-and-greet\n# Locations, hours, and updates","[{\"question\":\"How does the JCLS Summer 2023 reading challenge work?\",\"answer\":\"Participants read books, track progress, and earn badges through the online reading portal on Beanstack.
