The note covers production decisions, especially how pre-production evolved into rapid pre-production to track improvement across episodes, and how the art develops over repeated episode cycles. It also details the practical workflow for creating every panel, from storyboarding and sketching through line art, coloring, shading, effects, and color correction, plus the hardest task of selecting episode title songs.","Hello everyone.
This is Clarju.
After finishing Season 1,I kept wondering whether i should write aCreator's Note or not.and then the more andmore I thought about it,I just decidedit'd be better to write one.
There may be some mild spoilers below.
共why Ja22…?
Me standard answer:The improvlsstional qualitiesof jazz minrored the impulsivecharacteristics of thein ove….
A more honest answer:I just like jazz…(I'm the type of personwho can't live without music.)I just.wanted towrite a BL that involved music, and I consideredrock and classical music as well. But I feltlike jazz was a more unique and better fit.
廿Pre-production
ready and thought out,but I scrapped that plan..Instead,I quickly went into pre-production becauseI thought it'd be interesting to see myself improveover the course of the series...I feel verylucky to have made a quick debut.
If you look closely, you'll see the evolution(?)ofmy art.It improves with every 10 episodes or so.
Episode 12
Episode 28
It was..
*
*
*
~
…actually pretty nice.
Side Story 1
Honestly, picking the right songswas probably the hardest part.
The songs I chose for the episode titleshad to fit the overall story arc, while at thesame time represent the theme anddirection of each episod...
Morever, with jazz—though I'm sure the samegoes for all genres of music-a song can soundand feel completely dfferent based on the performer. So in order to find one that really matched the moodof a particular episode,I had to listen to severaldifferent performances of the same song.
re
Storyboarding.(When I storyboard,I pretty much become a hermit.)
Itry to focus all my energy intoquickly drawing out the storyboards on paper.(I'm the only one who can understand them.)I likeusing paper because I can look at all of the boardsat once and see the overall flow of the story.
Then,I quickly rough out the cutsand the dialogue on my computer.
Iuse a gray backgrourd
so that doesn't hurt my eyes
After retouching the background,I bring overthe layer and adjust it based on the storyboard.
Then,I quickly sketch the character's posesbased on the composition of the background.
Outline sketching.
(Ctrl+z is my best friend here.I try to be as detailedas possible,so this is the part that takes the longest.)
Line art.(I kind of just let my mind wander at this point.)
Base coloring.(This step goes by the quickest.)
Shading.
Shading 2.
Highlights.
Color correction.
After adding in effects,it's complete.
This is the process I go through for every single panel.
And I work as if my work week were 8 days,as opposed to 7….for about 16 hours a day...sniffle…(I'm not crying…)
All right...I'll stop boring youwith all this talk about myself.
And now….
….let's find out a little more about these four.
# 共Seheon

HE FOLLOWS TAEYIAROUND A LOT.
HE BLUSHES
EASILY.
AAH..
MMM...
HE'S A BIT OF
A CRYBABY.
MMM…?
HE SAYS WHAT'S
ON HIS MIND.
AND,MORE IMPORTANTLy...THIS ISN'T RIGHT.THAT'S WHY,WITH YOu...
| IF YOu PUT THEM
ALL TOGETHER,HE'D
PROBABLY LOOK
SOMETHING LIKE THIS. |
| --- |

SO WHAT I'MTRYING TO SAY IS...WHAT I'M TRYINGTO SAY IS.OKAY,OKAY.JUST COMEHERE.
TAEYI,WAIT FOR MEEE.MOVED THISENTIRE TIME.
WITHME..?
廿 Taeyī
