The program outlines travel dates, a proposed Osaka/Kyoto and Tokyo itinerary, assessment timing, eligibility and selection criteria, and COL400 fee details including FEE-HELP eligibility and required deposits, plus accommodation and additional expenses.","JAPAN  \nAnimation, Games & Design Tour 2023  \nBachelor of Creative Arts (Animation)  \nBachelor of Creative Arts (Game Design)  \nBachelor of Design (Visual Communication)  \nCross Institutional Project COL400 – International Study Tour  \n6 CREDIT POINTS  \nSummary  \nThis elective unit is a (September 2023 trimester) special project based on learning undertaken in Tokyo and related activities in the Osaka region.  \nOn completion of the 2-week program in Japan, students will continue with a  \n12-week special project on campus in Australia. Individual projects are based on a single project topic of the student’s choice that is then developed over the length of the course. Students will work in conjunction with a supervisor to complete the final project.  \nJapan trip dates (To be confirmed)  \n• Depart Australia 9th September.  \n• Return to Australia 24th September.  \nProposed Itinerary  \nWeek 1 – Osaka/Kyoto region  \nAfter arriving into Tokyo Haneda International Airport in the morning of 10 September and having a free day in Tokyo, the group is scheduled to transfer by shinkansen to Osaka the next day. We will stay in Osaka until Saturday, 16 September.  \nYour time in the Kansai region (Osaka/Nara/Kyoto/Kobe) will be a mixture of free time and organised activities. Students may visit the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, Kyoto Manga Museum and Universal Studios depending on scheduling and in some cases the group’spreferences. Key to the time in Kansai will be an organised visit to Naoshima--Japan’s“Art Island”.  \nWeek 2 – Tokyo  \nReturning to Tokyo on Saturday, 16 September, there will be four full days for organised activities such as visiting team Lab Planet Tokyo and Ghibli Museum (subject to ticket availability) . The bulk of the non-class time (see classes below) will be made available for you to explore Tokyo and surrounding regions based on your own creative interests. A list of ideas will be distributed, but there is SO MUCH to do and see in Tokyo that you can expect to be very busy!  \nFor the formal study, we will attend three days of classes at the Tokyo Design Technology Centre for Manga and Anime, which is part of the Jikei Com group.
