As a Club, we have so much to be thankful for including our members and our incredible volunteers. A special thanks to those members and local businesses who continue to support our club, the events, and projects. \nAs is the practice we are off to a running start with our Annual General Meeting to start off the New Year: \nAGM & Elections: \nWhen – Saturday Jan 10, 2024 \nWhere-Mickey McEwen Hall, 801 Railway Street (upstairs) Time-10:00 am \nThere are five Director positions up for election this year. If you’re interested in getting involved and making a difference for our local fish and wildlife, I encourage you to get involved in the ongoing success of our club. \nSHEEP FEEDING PROGRAM \nThis year 9 sheep showed up at the feed station in early December. Along with 2 rams and 4 ewes, we were pleased to see one of last year’s lambs there along with 2 of this year’s lambs romping around. Reports have been received of more sheep being seen on the highway. We hope to have more sheep at the site as the snow load increases. \nThe recent windstorm we had mid-month knocked down quite a few trees around the feed site and the sheep are very skittish. If you plan to take your family up there over the holidays, I ask you coordinate with the feeding times to reduce stress on the animals. The sheep are feed Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, usually around 10am. Please, do not bring your pets up there,(dogs or cats) as this is disruptive for the animals. \nThe high winds pushed over dozens of large trees in the upper canopy and put a large branch through hay shed roof. Warren Russell and Howie Grant subsequently attended and repaired the shed. The sheep have not been seen since the storm, although we still see evidence that they are using the feeder. \nAnother rule to remember is not to feed the sheep as they are on a very strict diet. Having them eat carrots, apples etc. is very hard on their digestive system. \nIf you want to become involved with the feeding program, please contact me at 250 551-1077 \nWILD GAME BANQUET \nOur Annual Wild Game Banquet scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, and is the biggest fundraiser for our club. The funds raised from the banquet are critical to the financial stability of the club.
