Please be assured that library staff continually monitor the pandemic and make adjustments to library services to help keep the libraries a safe and welcoming environment. We will continue to work within health guidelines from the Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control to provide appropriate library resources and services. \nDo you have a library card? If you’re reading this event guide, chances are high that you do. If you don’t, I encourage you to go to your closest library or go online to complete an application. A library card is your passport to many worlds and adventures! If you do have a card, I encourage you to talk to your friends and family and tell them about all the things they can do at the library with their card. \nOur Friends groups have been a tremendous support to us throughout the past year. While they weren’t able to hold as many book sales as usual, they continued to meet and stay engaged with library activities. A few times, they surprised staff—and patrons—with some lovely flower arrangements for our services desks. Our Friends truly are our friends, helping share information about our programs and services with the community. \nA new service that we started offering this summer is a notary public. We have certified notary persons available by appointment at our Ashland, Eagle Point, Medford, and Rogue River libraries. This free service supports individuals and families in accessing a vital resource that helps them secure the necessary verification on a variety of important legal documents. \nThis fall, we celebrate diversity in the arts, and diverse art. Please leaf through this guide to learn more. I hope to see you at the library soon!
