The ISC consists of 64 departments and agencies who work collaboratively to achieve its vision. As the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Chair, I am pleased to introduce Items Prohibited in Federal Facilities: An Interagency Security Committee Standard. \nThis standard updates procedures for establishing control of prohibited items in federal facilities. An established list of prohibited items provides consistency and prevents confusion at screening checkpoints. Consideration should be given to the specific process for granting exemptions or exceptions and should include a statement relating to those items already inside the facility at the time this standard is adopted. \nFacility Security Committees or tenant representatives for single tenant facilities are encouraged to document their prohibited and controlled items policies in their facility security plans (FSPs) and include them in briefings to new employees as part of their on-boarding process. \nThis document represents exemplary collaboration within the ISC Standards Subcommittee and across the entire ISC. \nDavid Mussington, Ph.D., CISSP \nExecutive Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency \nItems Prohibited in Federal Facilities: An Interagency Security Committee \n2 \nTable of Contents \nTable of Contents ........................................................................................................................................ 3 \n1.0 Introduction........................................................................................................................................... 4 \n2.0 Background ............................................................................................................................................ 5 \n3.0 Applicability and Scope ........................................................................................................................ 5 \n4.0 How to Apply This Standard ................................................................................................................. 6 \n5.0 Lists of Prohibited Items....................................................................................................................... 7 \n5.1 Firearms and Projectile Weapons.................................................................................................................................. 7 \n5.2 Bladed, Edged, or Sharp Tools or Implements ........................................................................................................ 7 \n5.3 Club-like Items and Striking Devices ........................................................................................................................... 8 \n5.4 Destructive Devices, Explosives, or Combustible Chemical Compounds and Mixtures .......................... 8 \n5.5 Disabling Chemicals and Other Dangerous Items.................................................................................................. 8 \n6.0 Procedures for Exceptions and Exemptions to Prohibited Items ...................................................... 9 \n6.1 General..................................................................................................................................................................................... 9 \n6.2 Procedures ....","cbCaipuaNQhhSaI0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaipuaNQhhSaI0","pdf",733847,16,"English","# 1.0 Introduction\n# 2.0 Background\n# 3.0 Applicability and Scope\n# 4.0 How to Apply This Standard\n# 5.0 Lists of Prohibited Items\n## 5.1 Firearms and Projectile Weapons\n## 5.2 Bladed, Edged, or Sharp Tools or Implements\n## 5.3 Club-like Items and Striking Devices\n## 5.4 Destructive Devices, Explosives, or Combustible Chemical Compounds and Mixtures\n## 5.5 Disabling Chemicals and Other Dangerous Items\n# 6.0 Procedures for Exceptions and Exemptions to Prohibited Items\n## 6.1 General\n## 6.2 Procedures\n# 7.0 Controlled Items\n## 7.1 Tools of the Trade\n## 7.2 Training Aids\n## 7.3 Sporting Equipment\n# 8.0 Glossary\n# 9.0 References","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the Interagency Security Committee standard on prohibited items?\",\"answer\":\"It establishes security policies to control prohibited items in federal facilities, helping ensure consistency at screening checkpoints and reducing confusion.
