A possible approach is included here. \nIsometric text and dimensions are required skill sets in many areas of CADD drafting. Isometric text and dimensions require extra steps to create compared to standard text and dimensions including setting up special text styles and the dimension edit command with the rotate and oblique options. \nLesson: Isometric Dimension: Creation and Deployment Page 2 􀀂 [www.MyCAERT.com](www.MyCAERT.com) \nCopyright © by CAERT, Inc. | Reproduction by subscription only. | L600171 \nCONTENT SUMMARY AND TEACHING STRATEGIES \n Objective 1: Create isometric text. \nAnticipated Problem: What is isometric? What is an isometric plane? How is isometric text created? What angles are associated with isometric text? \nI. Isometric is a Greek term meaning equal measure. An angle is the space between two intersecting lines or surfaces at or close to the point where they meet. In AutoCAD, isometric applies to a type of drawing called an isometric pictorial representation: all three angles between the axes are equal. \nA. ISOMETRIC PLANES: With an isometric drawing of a cube, the three visible faces of the cube are equilateral parallelograms. All of the parallel edges of the cube are projected as parallel lines. Horizontal edges are drawn at an angle (usually 30-degrees) from the horizontal axes. The vertical edges, which are parallel to the principal axes, appear in their true proportions. An isometric drawing needs text and dimensions. The text and dimensions are also drawn at a 30-degree angle. \n1. The isometric method shows the top, left, and right isometric planes. (See VM–A for an example of the left isoplane.) An isoplane is one of the three isometric planes: left, right, or top. \n2.
