Seccion 18.29,Code 1989,is amended to read as2 follows:  \n3     18.29 PRINTING FOR STATE INSTITUTIONS.  \n4 The power of the director to let contracts shall not  \n5 embrace printing for any state peral,correctional or board of  \n6 regents institution,or area-voeationa±-seheo±97-area  \n7 community colleges,or school corporations under the  \n8 jurisdiction of the department of education when the  \n9 institution is able and desires to do its own printing.  \n10 Sec.2.  Section 149.4,Code 1989,is amended to read as11 follows:  \n12     149.4 APPROVED SCHOOL.  \n13 No A school of podiatry shall not be approved by the board14 of podiatry examiners as a school of recognized standing  \n15 unless said the school:  \n16    1.Requires for graduation or the receipt of any podiatric17 degree the completion of a course of study covering a period18 of at least eight months in each of four calendar years.  \n19   2.After January 1,1962,no a school of podiatry shall20 not be approved by the board of podiatry examiners which does21 not have as an additional entrance requirement two years study22 in a recognized college,junior-celiege,university,or23 academy.  \n24 Sec.3.  Section 156.3,Code 1989,is amended to read as25 follows:  \n26     156.3 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.  \n27 To be eligible to take the examination for a funeral28 director's license,a person must have compieted two academic29 years of instruction in a recognized college₇-junor-eoege30 or university in a course of study approved by the board or31 have equivalent education as defined by the board and have32 satisfactorily completed a course of instruction in mcrtuary33 science in an accredited school approved by the board.  \n34 Sec.4.  Section 256.3,Code 1989,is amended to read as35 follows;  \n1     256.3 STATE BOARD ESTABLISHED.  \n2 The state board of education is established for the  \n3 department.  The state board consists of nine eleven members  \n4 appointed by the governor subject to senate confirmation.  The  \n5 members shall be qualified electors of the state and hold no  \n6 other elective or appointive state office.  A member shall not  \n7 be engaged in professional education for a major portion of  \n8 the member's time nor shall the menoer derive a major portion9 of income from any business or activity connected with  \n10 education. Three of the state board members shal21 have substantial knowledge related to the community college22 system and issues and concerns affecting that system.  The23 remaining five members shall be members of the general public,24 one of whom shall also_serve as the chairperson of the state25 board.  \n26Sec.5.
