The story pivots when Cludosis learns the crew will land on Mars first to establish a base camp, assemble machines and parts, and begin weapon development before attacking Earth. his telescope at Earth. The telescope, whichwas a recent invention of the Lustairians, made it possible for Cludosisto see the people and buildings on the surface of the Earth, eventhough his ship was still about 100 million miles away.It had been twoweeks since Cludosis'ship found the message from Earth. It was writ-ten in English according to Cludosis'translation machine.Using themachine,it had taken Cludosis about five minutes to translate the mes-sage into Lustairian, and then another half hour to memorize thewhole English language.Cludosis was the top scientist on all ofLustairea, and his knowledge was what had earned him a seat in thismission. The mission was originally to fly across the galaxy to findmetallica,a certain type of metal which was used to make things onLustairea. He had been enjoying a cup of gluf,an interesting drinkmade from crushed leaves and Glugiss tusk,(a Glugiss is almost like anelephant only it had three eyes and two legs)cooked together until itwas in liquid form, when he had received the message from Com-mander Klag, and had been asked to translate it.Once translated themessage read: \nWe welcome all aliens who come in peace. We are the Earthlings. \nEarth is the third planet from the sun.We want to be friends! \nAs he had translated it he couldn't help but think that the Earthlingswere stupid. They gave their location to anyone who wanted it.Andnow they were going to pay for their stupidity—with slavery!Cludosissnapped back to the present when Dasios walked in.\"Hey Cludosis,Ijust came to tell you that we should be landing on Mars in four min-utes,so you may want to put your telescope away.” \n“What are we landing on Mars for? We're going to Earth you idiot!\"” \n“Calm down! We're nowhere near ready to stage an attack on Earth. We are going to land on Mars where we will set up base camp and startworking on our weapons. Then we will attack Earth.” \n“Oh—well,sorry Dasios.” \n\"Never mind that, but we are about to land and unless you wantyour telescope to break,I'd suggest putting it away.” \nDasios walked out the door and Cludosis put his telescope away, then walked over to the window. He looked out it to see the red, rocky, surface of Mars being steadily enlarged as they descended to theground.Soon he heard a whoosh of air which meant the ship hadswitched to hover mode and was landing.Ten seconds later CaptainAszeo's voice came over the talking tube(similar to a loud speaker)andsaid,“All hands are to report to the store room as soon as the ship landsto carry the machines and parts out of the ship.We will be setting upcamp in that flat area that is straight ahead.Prepare to land—Thankyou.” \nHe ended the order as the ship landed. The ship had new shockabsorbers,so it was almost impossible to tell exactly when the shiptouched ground.Cludosis walked out of his cabin towards the storeroom. He met Dasios on the way.“At least we won't have to worryabout getting rained on here like on Tropacia,\"Dasios commented. \n\"Yeah,that's true. But now lets get to work,\"answered Cludosis. \nThey both started carrying out metal bars and other parts thatwould be used to make weapons.By the time Cludosis dropped hisstack of objects on the ground, there was","cbCaithTzEq2WTYx","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaithTzEq2WTYx","pdf",2538673,64,"English","# Chapter 1\n## Cludosis studies Earth from
