Effective July 1, 2024, Executive Directors’ salary becomes $296,390 and Alternates’ salary becomes $256,400, with payment as salary without a supplemental allowance.","Public Disclosure Authorized Public Disclosure Authorized  \nINTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT  \nBOARD OF GOVERNORS  \nResolution No. 704  \nDirect Remuneration of Executive Directors and their Alternates  \nWHEREAS the 2024 Joint Committee on the Remuneration of Executive Directors and Alternate Executive Directors ofthe International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Monetary Fund (the “JCR”) has carefully considered the issue of the remuneration of Executive Directors and Alternate Executive Directors for this year in line with relevant governance arrangements, market comparators and current economic landscape;  \nWHEREAS the JCR noted that public sector salary increases in selected G20 external comparator countries over the past 12 months have been generally between 4.0 percent to slightly over 5.0 percent;  \nWHEREAS the salaries of the President of the World Bank and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund will be adjusted automatically by 3.3 percent in 2024, in line with their contracts;  \nWHEREAS the JCR considered that positive action should continue to be taken to improve the relativity of Executive Directors’ remuneration vis-à-vis the heads ofthe institutions and senior staff, and to mitigate past erosion in real incomes;  \nWHEREAS taking all of these considerations into account, the JCR concludes that the salary increase recommended below is warranted in 2024, representing an improvement in the relativity of Executive Directors’ remuneration vis-à-vis the heads of the institutions by a further 0.5 percent, while keeping pace with external comparator developments;
