At the beginning of each semester, IPMs assists new international students and scholars at the International Student Orientations (ISO) . Interlink Peer Mentors are integral in creating a welcoming and appealing community to new international students and scholars. Throughout the school year, Interlink Peer Mentors work closely with International Student and Scholars Services (ISSS) staff to continue serving in their roles of being a friend, a cultural navigator, a resource person and a global leader by assisting in events and services offered through ISSS in the Center for International Education. Participation as an IPM is a rewarding and fun experience. Once selected, Interlink Peer Mentors will develop cross-cultural skills and become engaged global leaders for the Xavier community. Being involved as an IPM is an honor that  \ncomes along with many responsibilities and opportunities.  \n\n| Participate in Interlink Trainings |  |\n| --- | --- |\n|  | •The leadership trainings will focus on both intercultural competencies, building personal leadership strengths, and cover practical issues faced by new international students and scholars at Xavier University. |\n|  |  |\n| Assist at International Student Orientations (ISO) |  |\n|  | •The week before classes each semester, mentors assist with orientation activities, campus tours, and group activities as well as interact with new students or scholars to help them adjust to campus.\u003Cbr>•IPMs assists with the preparations for the International Student Orientations. All IPMs are required to sign up for 1 committee, but are able to sign up for more if you are interested and able to commit to them. You are responsible for fulfilling the duties of the committee you sign up for. If for some reason you are unable to do so, it is your responsibility to let your committee director know.
