Members highlight the value of insight notes, request a just-in-time note on effectiveness of financial instruments, and call for actions to address external review recommendations and decline in results indicators.","Public Disclosure Authorized Public Disclosure Authorized  \nIndependent Evaluation Group  \nWork Program and Budget (FY24) and Indicative Plan (FY25-26)  \nReport to the Board from the  \nBudget Committee and the Committee on Development Effectiveness ∗  \nJoint Meeting of June 5, 2023  \nThe Budget Committee and the Committee on Development Effectiveness (the Committees) met to consider the Independent Evaluation Group Work Program and Budget (FY24) and Indicative Plan (FY25-26) (R2023-0134[IDA/R2023-0130, IFC/R2023-0145, MIGA/R2023-0069]) .  \nThe Committees expressed strong support for IEG’s FY24 work program and budget to deliver a total of eleven thematic evaluations, the RAP, the MAR validation and four to five Country Program Evaluations (CPEs) . They welcomed the work program’s alignment with the Evolution agenda and continued to focus on addressing long-term strategic priorities. Members commended IEG’s consultative process with the Board and WBG management in the development of their work program and underscored their appreciation for the retaining flexibility to respond to the rapidly evolving global circumstances and WBG’s priorities. Both members and WBG management underscored the value of the insight notes in informing the evolution process. Members requested that IEG develop a just-in time note on the effectiveness ofDPFs, IPFs, PforRs and other financial instruments for the provision of global public goods. IEG noted it would write a short just-in time note on instruments based on existing evaluative evidence.  \nThe Committees looked forward to IEG's action plan to address the 2022 external review recommendations, particularly regarding the recommendations related to enhancing IFC’s self-evaluation, in collaboration with IFC management. They commended IEG’s efforts to disseminate lessons learned through different platforms, online workshops, training of officials, website, noting the importance of the Global Evaluation Initiative for building client countries capacity and systems. Highlighting their appreciation for IEG's prudence in its budget management, including cost-saving measures and the increased use of technology, members underscored the importance of implementing lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic to enhance efficiency. IEG acknowledged the questions on the decline of its results indicators, including those related to IEG’s contribution to facilitate development effectiveness and evaluation capacity. IEG noted it will pay close attention to these areas and work to improve on these indicators. Members acknowledged that IEG's workstream and cross-cutting themes, which are wellaligned with the priorities defined in the IBRD/IFC capital increase package commitments and the Forward Look, would need to be adjusted in light of the outcome of the Evolution Roadmap Members, IFC and MIGA appreciate IEG’s flexibility to delay the IEG evaluation on IFC/MIGA’s sustainability framework and to
