It emphasizes positive parental modeling and practical routines such as buying and cooking with children. It also introduces a nutrition conference call for posters, outlining research areas and poster submission and awards deadlines.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/","Healthcare",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/importance-of-involving-children-in-meal-preparation-call-for-poster/401796/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/importance-of-involving-children-in-meal-preparation-call-for-poster/401796.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"Asher","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-29","2026-09-27",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",9,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What of involving children in the different steps of meal preparation \nChildren’s nutritional education is, since years, one of the main tools to improving their health. However, what is and what is not nutritional education is still quite confused. \nNutritional education is not teaching children the nutrient content of different foods. Children don’t have control of their behaviours to let this issue to drive their decisions, and overall in this world where the offer of junk foods is so pervasive, long-standing and so appealing. \nNutritional education is not either informing them that some foods are good or bad for their future health. Children don’t have the meaning nor the feeling of their future, especially if the future is related to their health. Unfortunately this meaning belongs only to chronic sick children who wonder whether they will be able to overcome their problems. Nutritional education is working in such a way to make healthy foods appealing, familiar, and tasty, in order to let children spontaneously choose “good foods” where “good” means at the same time tasty and healthy. \nTo reach this goal the 3 papers presented in this issue are important because they help parents to act positively and not just to teach theoretically. \nIn conclusion, having healthy foods, mainly vegetables, at home largely visible and available, buying foods with children but without letting them use their “pestering power” in the supermarkets and cooking with them helps a lotto convince children to eat vegetables and to like them. \nHowever parents shouldn’t forget that they are the main models for their children and that no child will eat healthy if his/her parents don’t show the same behaviour. \nMargherita Caroli \nPediatrician and nutritionist, Department of Prevention, Azienda Sanitaria Locale, Brindisi, ITALY \nNutrition & Health: From science to practice \nNOVEMBER 7th – 9th Marriott Hotel – LYON-FRANCE \nCALL FOR POSTER \nAugust, 31st : Abstract submission deadline November, 9th : Poster awards \nAREAS TO BE ADDRESSED WILL INCLUDE \n• Current Research in Nutrition \n• Nutrition and Health \n• Nutrition and Prevention \n• Nutrition and Cardiovascular diseases \n• Nutrition and Obesity \n• Nutrition and Diabetes \n• Nutrition and Cancers \n• Nutritional Neuroscience \n• Nutritional Epidemiology \n• Public Health Nutrition \n• Prevention in General Practice \n• Healthy Lifestyle \n• Pediatrics and Complementary feeding \n• Nutritional Education \n• Food Marketing \n• Food Environment \n• Food Systems \n• Food Safety \n• School Food Procurement \n• School Schemes \n• Nutrition and Sociology \n• Nutrition and Behavioral Science \n• F&V consumption \n• Economics and Legislation related \nto F&V \nTHE EUROPEAN UNION SUPPORTS CAMPAIGNS THAT PROMOTE RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. \nOur partners \nEditions available in: \nEnglish: \n[www.](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[aprifel.com](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[ / www.](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[freshfel.org](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[ / www.](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[ ](www.aprifel.com / www.freshfel.org / www.kauppapuutarhaliitto.fi)[www.](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca)[unitedfresh.co.nz](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca)[ / www.](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca)[5amtag.ch](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca)[ / www.](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca)[halfyourplate.ca](www.unitedfresh.co.nz / www.5amtag.ch / www.halfyourplate.ca) \n French: [www.](www.aprifel.com)[aprifel.com](www.aprifel.com) \n Spanish: [www.](www.5aldia.org)[5aldia.org](www.5aldia.org) \n","cbCaip65bzPSEGh3","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaip65bzPSEGh3","pdf",1573407,"English","# Nutrition education through involving children\n## What nutritional education is and is not\n## Making healthy foods appealing, familiar, and tasty\n## Parental modeling and practical family routines\n# Conference call for posters\n## Venue and dates\n## Abstract submission and poster awards\n## Topics to be addressed","[{\"question\":\"What does the document say nutritional education should focus on?\",\"answer\":\"It should help children develop a spontaneous preference for healthy foods by making them appealing, familiar, and tasty, rather than teaching nutrient lists or simply telling children which foods are good or bad.\"},{\"question\":\"How can parents help children eat more vegetables according to the document?\",\"answer\":\"By keeping healthy foods, mainly vegetables, visible and available at home, buying foods with children without letting them dominate with “pestering” in supermarkets, and cooking with them to build positive acceptance.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the poster call and what deadlines are mentioned?\",\"answer\":\"The document contains a call for poster for a nutrition and health conference (November 7th–9th at the Marriott Hotel in Lyon, France), with an abstract submission deadline on August 31st and poster awards on November 9th.\"}]","Importance of Involving Children in Meal Preparation - Call for Poster | PDF",1790524157]
