If you have further questions or licensure concerns, contact the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and/or your Residency Program Director (RPD) . \nGETTING STARTED \nIt is crucial to the success of your training to be licensed at the beginning of your residency year. It does not matter if you are about to start your PGY1 or PGY2 residency, the process of getting licensed in the state you will be practicing in can be unexpectedly complicated and long. Do not delay in starting the steps outlined below. \n􀂆 NEW GRADUATES \nStep 1: Apply through Continental Testing Service (CTS) at [http://continentaltestinginc.com/product/illinois-051-](http://continentaltestinginc.com/product/illinois-051-)[registered-pharmacist/](registered-pharmacist/.)[.](registered-pharmacist/.) \na. Complete the online licensure/examination application. \nb. Pay required fee(s) . \nc. Have your school submit a completed ED-PHM form showing proof of graduation/expected graduation. \nStep 2: Complete the online exam eligibility application with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) [at](at www.nabp.pharmacy)[ ](at www.nabp.pharmacy)[www.nabp.pharmacy](at www.nabp.pharmacy). \na. Create an account on NABP, and apply for exam eligibility through the “Examination Services” tab in your e-Profile. \nb. Pay the required fee(s) . \nc. Register for the following: \ni. NAPLEX: [https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/naplex/](https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/naplex/) \nii. MPJE: [https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/mpje/](https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/mpje/) \nd. Additional information can be found on The Candidate Application Bulletin. \nStep 3: Receive your Authorization to Test (ATT) from Pearson Professional Assessments (formerly known as Pearson Vue). \n1 \nIllinois Pharmacist Licensure \nNew Resident Guide \na. After you have been determined to be eligible to test, you will receive your ATT. \nb. After you receive yourATT, schedule your exam(s) with Pearson Professional Assessments as soon as possible, following the instructions provided and paying the required fee(s) . \nStep 4: After passing the exams \na. Once you successfully pass your tests, you will receive an Official Results letter from CTS with instructions on how to apply for licensure with IDFPR. \na. Apply for licensure through IDFPR here: eLicense Online Application \ni. If needed, register for a new account with IDFPR here: eLicense Online Account Registration \nImportant: DO NOT apply for licensure with IDFPR before receiving your Official Results Letter from CTS. \n􀂆 LICENSE TRANSFER OPTIONS \nStep 1: There are two pathways for obtaining an Illinois pharmacist license if you are not initially licensed in \nIllinois. \na. Pathway 1: NAPLEX score transfer (New Graduates) \ni. Request score transfer BEFORE taking the NAPLEX. During your NABP application, select Illinois as a score transfer state. \nii. Complete the standard license process: apply through CTS, apply through NABP, take both MPJE and NAPLEX. \niii. Your NAPLEX score will be automatically transferred to Illinois, allowing you to proceed with licensure. \nb. Pathway 2: License transfer (Already Licensed in Another State) \ni. Apply for Licensure Transfer through the NABP Electronic Licensure Transfer Program (e-LTP) [https://nabp](https://nabp). pharmacy/programs/licensure-transfer/ . This process verifies your existing license(s), background check and screening through the NABP Clearinghouse. \ni. Pay the Electronic Licensure Transfer Program (e-LTP) application and examination fee(s) . \nStep 2: Apply through IDFPR \na.
