DO Have students write from the perspective of a Hotel Transylvania 3:  \nSummer Vacation character, describing what the character might choose as his or her favorite summer vacation destination or activity.  \nSTUDENT ACTIVITY 1  \nMonster Mystery Message  \nIN THEATERS JULY 13  \nSTEPS 1) Distribute Student Activity  \nSheet 2. Have students follow the directions to fill in their favorite  \nsummer friends, meals, and activities. 2) Instruct students to cut out the booklet pages  \nalong the border on the dotted lines. Then ask students flip the pages so that the blank sides are facing each other.  \nHave them glue the blank sides together and fold in half with the cover on the outside.  \n3) Encourage students to color the illustrations featured on the books. 4) Invite students to share their books with classmates.  \n5) Extend learning by having students write opinion pieces or narratives, choosing one summer vacation or activity to focus on. For their nonfiction opinion  \nGOAL Students will use a key featuring characters from Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation to decode a secret message.  \nMATERIALS Student Activity Sheet 1, writing supplies STEPS 1) Distribute Student Activity Sheet 1. 2) Instruct students to use the key to write the correct letter on the blank space under each character. Once all are complete, it will reveal the hidden message. 3) Ask students to share their answers. The correct message is “A Hotel on Water.”  \nSTUDENT ACTIVITY 2  \nMonster Memory Book  \nGOAL Students will identify what they most like about summertime and which summers have been the most memorable.  \nMATERIALS Activity Sheet 2, writing and coloring supplies, scissors, glue  \npieces, they should describe what made it their favorite vacation or activity. For their narratives, students should write scenes, describing the event and who took part.  \nSTUDENT ACTIVITY 3  \nPostcards From Paradise  \nGOAL Students complete postcards about their summer plans, from Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation characters’ perspectives and/or their own, and share ideas with friends.  \nMATERIALS Student Activity Sheet 3, writing and coloring supplies, scissors  \nSTEPS 1) Distribute Student Activity Sheet 3. 2) Instruct students to complete the postcard text.
