The document outlines school-provided revision support including knowledge organisers, retrieval practice strategies, and PLC booklets to identify strengths and weaknesses. It also details how students and parents should use Google Classroom resources, complete homework targets, and benefit from tools like Tassomai, plus recommended revision guides, apps, and websites.","How to Succeed in GCSE HISTORY (AQA) \nThe best chance of success in all subjects is: \n● an excellent punctuality and attendance to lessons \n● a positive attitude to learning \n● high aspirations, resilience and a determination to achieve \n●a commitment to independent study ( homework and revision) \nIn History we provide the following support to ensure that all students make the best possible progress: \nKnowledge organisers-Here are links to each of our Knowledge Organisers: Opportunity and Inequality in America; Conflict and Tensions between East and West; Elizabethan England ; and Health and the People will be uploaded later. These can be used to revise the key learning ideas. Our Knowledge Organisers are all in the Google Classroom but also they could try: BBC Bitesize-Conflict and Tension; BBC Bitesize-Health and the People; BBC Bitesize-Elizabethan England ; and BBC Bitesize: \nOpportunity and Inequality in America \nHelp with Revision ( Retrieval Practice)-Six Strategies for Effective Learning. This link gives students revision strategies that educational research suggests are effective methods of learning. PARENTS/CARERS: Encourage your child to use these different techniques, help test them on their flashcards and make sure they have organised all their revision strategies. \nPLCs-These can be used to identify key areas of strength and weakness across the whole course. Each booklet has its PLC and they are shared within the Google Classroom as well. \nGoogle classroom-Each GCSE History class has its own Google Classroom. That is where all lesson resources, revision resources and homework are posted. PARENTS/CARERS: Encourage your child to use this resource, and revisit lesson materials. \nHomework-We expect students to complete a varietyof different homework tasks. Most will be based around retrieval practice, using the content on the Knowledge Organisers, but they will also include practice exam questions and source/ interpretation material to work with. Students should aim for a minimum of 45 minutes per week. \nExtended Support-Additional support will be provided for specific students initially that would benefit the most from it. This will be an opportunity for them to ask any questions and complete tasks with a smaller number of students. This support will then be opened up to all students as we approach the exams. \nTassomai: Students also have access to Tassomai and should be completing three daily goals per week. They can do more than this if they wish. This is an excellent tool for revision and retrieval practice. \nRevision Material \n● There is an excellent Revision Guide for GCSE History, which covers the entire specification. \nThis is the My Revision Notes: AQA GCSE (9-1) History, Second edition by Tim Jenner et al, and can be purchased from all good online bookstores, including Amazon. \nSecond hand copies in perfectly good condition can also be found from second hand booksellers-such as Amazon, World of Books, Abe Books and Oxfam Books. \nWe recommend the following revision APPS and websites: \n● Clever [Lili-](Lili-www.gcsehistory.com. This works)[www.gcsehistory.com](Lili-www.gcsehistory.com. This works)[. This works](Lili-www.gcsehistory.com. This works) by asking specific questions and the website answers them for you- like asking Siri or Alexa, but with content written by History teachers and specific to the exam board ( if they select AQA) . \nIf there are any subject concerns please contact the class teacher early so that we can support. By working closely together we can make sure students make the best possible progress.","cbCaisesyOLoB4xi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisesyOLoB4xi","pdf",292218,1,2,"English","en",105,"# Key Success Factors\n# School Support and Revision Resources\n## Knowledge Organisers\n## Retrieval Practice and Revision Strategies\n## PLCs and Google Classroom\n## Homework and Extended Support\n## Tassomai\n# Recommended Revision Materials and Apps\n# Parent/Carer Guidance\n# Communication for Subject Concerns","[{\"question\":\"What are the main factors for succeeding in GCSE History (AQA)?\",\"answer\":\"Success relies on excellent punctuality and attendance, a positive learning attitude, high aspirations with resilience, and a determination to achieve through independent study.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the school support revision for History students?\",\"answer\":\"Support includes knowledge organisers for key topics, retrieval practice learning strategies, PLC booklets to track strengths and weaknesses, and access to resources through Google Classroom.\"},{\"question\":\"What revision tools and materials are recommended in the guidance?\",\"answer\":\"Students are encouraged to use a GCSE History revision guide covering the full specification, My Revision Notes (AQA 9-1), and recommended revision apps and websites, alongside Tassomai daily goals for retrieval practice.\"}]","How to Succeed in GCSE History (AQA) -
